It is the BEST feeling - to go into a restaurant and not asking for a chair without arms - sitting on a plane and not needing a seat belt extender! I love being able to sit in even "cheap" plastic outdoor furniture, and not worrying that it will collapse. I accomplished this goal - and it's one of my favorites!

I was surprised when I first realized they were not asking me "booth or table" any more - it has been months since I felt like they were sizing me up to see if I fit their accommodations. :)

two things that stand out in my memory..the day I broke a plastic lawn chair, and the day I was asked to get off of a roller coaster because I couldn't fit. I can ride the roller coasters now and sit in the chairs..I'm still just a little bit tight with the booths in restaurants, because of "the girls" but it's much better than it was. Thanks for this post.

I am already better!!!! Guess that I didn't see this goal, but I have made it. I am a little over half way to goal thanks in part to my friends here at OH.

The day I went into a restaurant and slid easily and comfortably into a booth, I very nearly started to cry.

Strange that something which a large portion of the population will never give a thought to, can make us so very happy!

Well last week my hubby and I went out for our first restaurant trip since my surgery, when they asked table or booth I looked at my hubby with a huge smile on my face and turned to the girl and said, "you pick either one is fine with us". AMAZING feeling.

Can't imagine ever being "comfortable&qu ot; in a plane seat!! But it felt good to not have to get an extension last flight.

The first time I was able to slide into a booth at a restaurant and sit in the seat of an airplane without needing a seatbelt extender where two giant milestones in my WL journey.

I used to avoid any meeting where I knew I would have to sit side by side in a folding metal chair. now, I do not even think about seating. Not only that, but I can sashay between people seated in these rows with out them having to stand up or exit the row to allow me to walk past. This is one of my favorite changes since WLS. Chairs are no longer an obstacle that I have to contemplate.

next time i go to a restaurant i will take a pic of me sitting comfortably in a booth...and loving it! We used to have to wait extra time at the door until a table came up because i couldnt fit into the booths that were bolted down. At one restaurant they had decorative lattice on the sides of the booths and i got stuck. it was humiliating. i dont take for granted i can get in and out these days.

I am fulfilling my final goal in Oct. I took a cruise 2 weeks after having my lapband done, I am going on another in October 2011. The cruise in March 2007 was hard on me because of walking alot, I can now do so much more! I bowl every Sunday and have for the last year, even right after a total hip replacement, I refused to let that stop me! Don't get me wrong, I have had a gain due to band troubles and family deaths, but I will never be over 250 pounds again!

I fit into the extra small Southwest Airline seats with lots of room to spare in the buckle and my thigh not even touching the person next to me! I can cross my legs and sit with both arms inside my seat at the theater. I never stres about booths in restaurants anymore. I don't worry about lawn furniture and flimsy plastic chairs. I can probably go on any roller coaster I wanted to go on and I might even go to the waterslides with my nephews sometime soon. But sometimes I DO catch myself sitting down slowly and carefully even though there is no need for it anymore. I have 60+ pounds to go to goal but I already feel like I fit into the world better.
