I am home
on February 17, 2008 6:41 am
I got up at 3:20 on monday and showered and started to get everything loaded to go to the hospital we had to be out of the house by 4:30. We got to the hospital and all the emotions started running. I was the most scared of waking up in pain. The nurses came and got me and the next thing i remember I was in the operating room.
When I woke up there was definitly pain. I was very nauseated as well. As the day progressed the staff was getting worried about my vitals. My heart rate was running high and my b/p was low. These are all signs of bleeding out. They decided to give me a blood transfusion. They sent me down for a leak test and everything came back normal. Everyday the pain got a little bettter and the nauseatia finally subsided. I got to go home on the friday after my surgery. The staff at the hospital was wonderful. They were all so nice and concerned.

I AM CURRENTLY IN SHOCK
on November 7, 2007 5:19 pm
I went for my psych eval today and after a good old session of talking, the lady then told me she was aproving me for the surgery... I just kinda sat there and she asked if I wasn't excited. I explained to her to that I was because each step i was closer to getin the surgery. I said that the biggest hurdle was yet to come because now I had to wait for a while and see if the insurance aproved me and then wait to get my surgery date. She then told me that as soon as the dr office recieved her approval letter they'd call with my date.  I then asked her about the insurance and she said that the dr doen't send patients to her unless they know that they can get aproval. I am so happy right now. It really is going to happen. I know it in my heart...

ON MY WAY
on September 22, 2007 6:10 am
Hey there everyone. I just thought I'd stop and give an update to my progress. I went last week to my educational seminar. That was awesome because the surgions office the ones who put it on so you get all kinds of info that you wouldn't even think about. Then the surgions themselves come and talk about the surgery, what they expect and they take ?'s. Wow it was nice to see that everybody had about the same kind of ?'s. Makes you feel normal and not an outcast.
After I left there they said that the dr office would call in a week and set an apt with surgion. they did tell ppl to be patient due to the fact that it might take up to a month to get the apt. Well I was so excited that when the nurse called she said she could get me in, in a week. GREAT!! I feel like things are moving forward at a fast pace. I am so excited to be a new me that sometimes it feels like it will never happen. But I know it will and that I just have to be patient. Thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Story

I am 28 years old. My story is like so many that I have read on here. I can not remember a time that I have not struggled with my weight. I remember praying to God when I was younger that i would wake up and be skinny. Little did I know at that age that this problem would turn into a health issue for me. I was never obese in school, just bigger than all of the other girls at school. As the years passed I started to add weight. First 10lbs here and then I'd try a diet and that wouldn't work and the weight just added up.

After years of infertility (which I now know is a big symptom of PCOS), me and my husband(who i have married to for 8 years) recieved the best news...pregnant. Three months after I gave birth to a healthy baby boy, I found out that guess what... pregnant again. I didn't even have the time to loose the baby weight. After my second blessing I gained close to 50lbs. I started to diet hardcore, but I just kept feeling run down. After getting reallly sick, we found out that I was diabetic. That was a huge blow to me. I went to all of the diabetic classes and vowed to loose weight. But guess what... yep you guessed pregnant again. I finally had my baby girl. I had some major womanly issues after having her and needed surgery. That is when we found out that we were expecting once again.

After the blessing of my babies, I have steadily gained atleast 15lbs. I have joined a fitness center and been put on a dr supervised diet and to no avail. The most I have lost in a 5 mos span is 2lbs. I have decided to that i can not sit around and not do anything. I have five beautiful ppl in my life depending on me. All of you who have made this journey are my inspiration. So many of you have a place in my heart and I have never met you. I hope that on my journey I can be half as strong and successful as you.
