Surgeon Testimonial

Vishnudas Panemanglore MD
I had my first apointment in October with Dr. Panemanglore, he seems friendly, knowledgable, caring and understanding. I am confident I am in very good hands for the surgery and have read many positive things about him.

Little over 3 months out --- (14 weeks)
on May 26, 2008 8:18 am

Wow cannot believe I am 3 months out!   I thought it was time for another update, I will try to post some new pictures today.   When I started this process I knew I would lose, however never thought I would lose this much at 3 months.   Since the surgery I have lost 63.8 lbs, 30 prior to that  while on Medifast WOW 93.8 lbs total thats 2 1st graders!!!.   I am wearing sizes I have not bought in a long long time (if ever)   Not only that but I am off the blood pressure meds, no more cholesterol meds and best of all NO MORE diabetes medicine.   I used to take 4 shots of either humalog or lantus and I do not miss it.  My A1C was 6.4 my last doctor visit with my primary.
That is a number I have not seen in a very very long time after being a diabetic for 10 years.

And of course, watching the look on peoples faces when they see me after not seeing me for awhile they just cannot believe it.   I am truly coming out of my shell - I have alsways been outgoing and happy now I have more confidence, self esteem and just feeling great all over!   I joined the gym and have started out slow but every little bit helps.   I love trying new recipes and eating healthy.  I have always known what to do to lose weight and eat healthy but just had never done what I should have.   Now I have been given a tool to enable me to lose the weight and be a healthy person and look great!!

That is about it for now --- going to be a busy summer my daughter is due for a baby girl July 4th and I am going to be a grandma for the first time!!  And I cannot wait.

Post Op appointment
on February 22, 2008 12:53 pm
I went to my post op appointment with Dr. Panemanglore today and am happy to repost that things went well!
He said I am doing good, and can begin walking, exercising and evn swimming if I wanted to.   I will take things slow, I know my limits and tire easily.  He answered all of my questions and was very patient with me.   He discussed what medications I should take and vitamins and made explained again how very important the vitamins are.   I had lost 30.5 lbs on Medifast and have lost 11.5 lbs. since the surgery so --- a total of 42lbs...., I am just so proud of myself!!!! WoooHooo

This is a wonderful journey!!!!

My Story

My storey seems to be like everyone elses, I have always been overweight.   Always the heaviest kid and shopped at the chubby, pretty plus and then womans sizes - seems I have always been limited to what stores I can shop at   I got married and within 2 years I had gained 75 pounds.   Of course there was also the yoyo dieting, Diet Workshop, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Diet Center - you know the drill and each time, whatever I lost I regained and then some!
My pregnancies went well although I was considered high risk from the start due to the weight and developed gestational diabetes for my second daughter.   Shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with Type II disabetes - and it seems to be downhill from there.   The weight spiraled out of control.
I then accepted it for many many years and thought this was the way I was supposed to be, and several years went by and I decided to do something!   So here I am!!!
My journey has begun and I have not been so excited, dedicated to something in a very long time.

I know it will not be easy, but what is when you get such a reward at the end!
