Surgeon Testimonial

Kenneth M.R. Warnock
2/15/02 Dr Warnock is such a kind person. He is very compassionate. I am waiting for insurance approval, but I have decided for sure that he is the right Dr for me.

My Story

I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow afternoon. I am hoping that she will refer me to Dr Warnock, who does the surgery here in Wichita Falls. In fact, I work in the same clinic that that his office is located. I am @ 230lbs and desperate. I have a family history of diabetes, obesity, heart problems, and cancer...and this is in my immediate family!!!

My PCP is totally against bariatric surgery. That was a big let down for me. She said "At 5'4" and 230lbs you are not that overweight. I think you should exercise more and eat less." She did however, give me the referall to Dr Warnock. She said she will not write a letter for me to give to the insurance conpany. I called Dr. Warnock's nurse and she said that since I went to a Dr in regards to my weight a few months ago that he could give me the letter I need. I called him and he agreed to send me the letter. Now I just wait until my appointment with Dr Warnock to see what he says.

2/16/02 Ihad my appointment with Dr Warnock yesterday evening. He was so nice. He explained everything in detail and answered my questions with such patience. I have to get a letter from my former weight loss Doctor since my PCP won't give me one. After that I guess the waiting game will begin with the insurance company.

03/25/02 My letter from the Doctor was finally written and Debbie sent everything to the insurance company last Friday. Now the waiting game really begins. I feel as though I am on pins and needles now. The wait for a decision will be very hard for me.

06/06/02 Yesterday, I got the call from my insurance company to let me know that I was approved!!! I called the surgeon's office and have been scheduled for July 11th. I am so very excited!!!!

01/10/03 It has been a while since I've updated this. Sorry!!! I have lost 65 pounds!! My current weight is 180. I am so very happy with my decision to have this surgery done!!!

1/2/04 Well, It has been another year since I've updated this profile. I weigh 124 pounds now. My total weight loss is 121 pounds. I think I am a little too skinny (maybe 5-10 pounds underweight), but I have a terrible problem with gaining weight (mentally). The last time I tried, I successfully gained 3 pounds (from 126 to 129 pounds). When I saw that number on the scale, I thought I had gained the weight too easily, and it really scared me. A short time after that I lost more weight, which brought me to my current weight. I have maintained this weight for three months. I am still very happy with my decision to have this surgery.

1/25/06 I was put on Prozac last February to treat depression-not related to my weight. I have gained 31 pounds to date. My current weight is 155 pounds. I really needed to put some weight back on because I looked anorexic. However I really want to lose 15 pounds, but have not been successful yet.
