Surgeon Testimonial

Michael L. Schwartz, M.D.
Right off the bat, I liked Dr. Schwartz. I trusted him, because he and his partner came so highly recommended. He spoke at my initial seminar and disclosed that he had a gastric bypass several years ago himself! In my initial surgical consultation he answered many questions and told me what I needed to complete in order to have the surgery. He was thorough and very helpful and patient with all my questions. rn Dr. Schwartz is very careful to have the best surgery possible. He prides himself on the success rate of WLS at Minneapolis Bariatric Clinic. He has every intention of keeping it a Center of Excellence for WLS. I think he is both a consummate professional and technically, and excellent surgeon. He is very personable, as well. Have both the surgical competence and the likable bedside manner are a rare combination. The program at the clinic is thorough as well, and I will be followed there for years to come.

2nd Surgiversary!
on October 1, 2011 11:14 am
I had my RNY  2 years ago yesterday.

I lost 115 pounds, give or take, and have kept them off.  I still have 60 pounds to get to my surgeon's goal, but it has been hard to go down.  Why?  Because the year of stall is due to my continued grazing.  DON'T GRAZE!   Eating in between meals is the kiss of death.  Especially if you don't exercise.

I'm trying to increase my exercise, knowing my metabolism is probably shot.  My tool (small capacity tummy) still works great.  I eat less than 1/2 of what I would before.  I am determined to be even more successful.  But I have to say, I feel great and look good!  Life has been SO much better since I had the surgery.  No comparison.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I still attend WLS support groups and love the comraderie and understanding I get there.  That has helped and will continue to help me.

Good luck to those starting the journey and those on the journey.  It is a TOOL and one that must be incorporated in a healthy plan - eating and moving.
