I have gained over 100 lbs. since a hysterectomy 15 years ago. I have tried several diets, and I lose 30 lbs. and then gain back more. Broke my leg 2 and a half years ago, and now cannot walk for more than a block without pain. My orthopedic surgeon says the pain will be much less if I lose weight.

Tomorrow I go for my meeting with the surgeon in Honolulu. I'm a little nervous, but will be glad to have this next step out of the way, so I'm really on my way to surgery next week. More are I figure out how to do fancy things with profile.

Gee, time sure does fly! I had my surgery on July 26th and it went great! The surgery was only one hour and 45 minutes, and the surgeon said it was "routine." That sounded good to me! I was in the hospital for two days, and came home feeling tired but great otherwise. No pain at all, and just five bandages on the pukas (holes) in my belly.
Since then, in the past 4 weeks, I've lost 25 lbs. and am now eating things like protein bars, cottage cheese/papaya/blueberries, yogurt, soup, etc. I am feeling like a million bucks, and so very grateful that everything has turned out so good.
Now, I'm on the journey to reach my goal weight....hopefully within a year.
