Karen, you are in for one wild and crazy ride full of fun and surprises. Hang on to your pants because they'll be falling off soon, haha. Be sure to take your pics and measurements today if you haven't yet; you will regret not having them for comparison soon. Sending up prayers and positive energy for you. Hugs, Dana

About Me
on October 8, 2008 12:18 pm
My story.  I have been overweight most of my life.  I have 2 sisters that got my dad's height.  They are 5 9' and I am 5 2'.  They are thin and I am heavy.  My mom was 4 10' and my dad 6 1'.  I am the middle child.  It was always my older sister was the smart one and my little sister was the pretty one.  That is how relatives referred to them and I was the middle one.

I was an EMT for 10 years  in the small town I grew up in.  I was also the Mayor Pro-Tem.  I was on the Texas Municipal League and other boards.  I was also the youth minister at my church.  I always stayed busy.

I was married for 18 years to my first husband.  After 4 years of marriage I had a miscarriage after trying for 2 years to have a baby.  A month later we found out I was pregnant again.  In my first trimester my husband had a seziure and was told he had to have brain surgery.  It left him partially paralized.  He was in the hospital for 6 months also rehab.  He was only home for 3 months when I had to have emergency c-section.

We both worked for the same company and it was sold and moved to GA.  We were offered jobs in Atlanta, but chose not to move because of his surgery and my mother was terminally ill.  I was kept on contract working from home training my replacement for 4 months.  During that time I was dressing my husband taking care of a baby, and a sick mother.  I would stress eat big time.

My mom passed away and I found an awesome job.  The only trouble with it was I traveled each week.  My daughter called me a travelling mom.  I missed her first year of school because I was traveling to Mexico City each month.

During this time I had cancer and heart bypass surgery.  I had allot of heart issues.

Now I am married to a man that is 20 years older than me.  My daughter is in college.  My cardiologist and Endo Dr decided if I was going to live I would need to have my RYN Gastric Bypass.  My insurance would not pay for it.  So I waited a year and now they do.  Aug 1, 2008 after allot of research, seminars I found a Dr and had my surgery.

It has been 9 weeks and I have lost 53 lbs.
