Thomas A. Stellato M.D. Dr. Stellato wasn't very chatty at first. But he was very happy to answer any and all questions. I took my husband and daughter with me to the first meeting because they also had questions for him and he didn't mind at all. He has a great staff. They helped me through the tangle of getting my insurance to approve me (and they say that my experience is unique in their experience which is pretty vast) and never gave up on me. I would recommend them to anyone. They gave me all the information I needed to prepare for the surgery and encouraged me though it all.
During my surgical stay, Dr. Stellato was a frequent visitor and I knew he was on top of my care.

Hello everyone! I am Sue. I am married (for 18 years), have 2 step children, Jesse, 22 and Jenna, 21 and one daughter, Cynthia 15. I also have 2 step-grandchildren that are the world to me and got me thinking about the true future.
My sister had RNY about 5 years ago. She fought for it with her insurance company and hasn't looked back since. She looks great. I have researched the RNY procedure for about a year before I decided it was for me too. I am still nervous. My husband supports me in any decision that I make about this surgery but he is nervous about it too.
Today was my second appointment with my surgeon, Dr. Stellato and with his nurse. I also had most of my pre-admission testing. I love these people. I started to ask a couple questions but hesitated at some point and he encouraged any and all of my questions. He never hurried or acted like any question was stupid. He seemed as excited as I was that the surgery date was set. (July 1st is the big date). He did tell me to lose a few pounds to keep my BMI down to shorten the adjustments he had to make for it to be successful. So nervous now but better for talking to them. One more appointment on Wednesday with the pulmonologist, the nurse co-ordinator, and the nutritionists. They said a couple hours for everything. Woo Hoo!
