Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Before fifth grade I was always a decent bodied girl. Then the summer before 5th and 6th grade came along. The summer of my mom's divorce from her second husband... the one that threatened to kill us. My mom made us stay locked in the house all summer, trying to protect us. That is the summer that I gained 50 pounds! All there was to do was eat and watch T.V while my mother worked. Since then I have been overweight, no matter how many times I have tried to lose it. I have not weighed less than 216 pounds since I was 16. I currently weigh 383 pounds. I never really understood why I could not lose weight, why I never seemed to get smaller no matter what I did. I did not have a huge problem with food, with the exception for that summer....

2 weeks Post Op REY

Well, only one minor complication during surgery. They could not get the stapler in me for some reason, so they had to cut thru a muscle then sew it back together. That is the only major pain I feel right now. I have had a few trials already as the power in our entire town was out for 5 + days. I have been following my diet at least 95%. Twop weeks before surgery I was 383, two days after surgery I was 380, Right now I am 355... total of 28 pounds already lost. I think I lost anckle fat and boobies, but everyone already seems to notice a difference. We shall see how things continue to go..

I only have less than three wekks until my surgery. I am getting nervous, but keeping busy with finding coupons and planning my meals for after surgery is taking an edge off of it. I am excited, and my daughter, Lexi, will be with me. It helps to know I have family and friend support in this.
