Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
My weight loss struggle has been hard. I put on my weight when I was 17 and pregnant with my son. During my pregnancy I went from 138 lbs. to 215 lbs. And just went up even higher since then. When I would diet it seemed like it made me hungrier and crave food more! And exercise has been hard also.

Got a date!!

I had my preop testing on July 7, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I was fearing most the upper gi, but it really wasn't too bad, they had me swallow little white beads that fizzed and filled my stomach with air, I got water to swallow it down with, then I had to drink a whole cup of the barium to me it tasted like regular mylanta, then I laid down and turned around to coat my stomach then had to drink a watered down version of it and after turning around a few times it was done.  
Today I got my surgery date, it is July 25!! Can't wait!

Approved!!

I called my insurance company back on June 9 and they couldn't find my paperwork!!  So my Dr. office faxed it again and that evening they had it.  Then the dr. office called me today and said I was approved!!!
Yay!!  Now I have to wait for them to call me to set up an appointment for my preop testing.  I can't wait!  I want to get started on my weight loss journey!

Still waiting

Well, the insurance company finally got my paperwork.  It was sent in May 19, I called the 26th and they didn't have them, so the dr. office sent them in again the 27th, called yesterday and they still didn't have them, then they told me that before my paperwork gets faxed the dr. office has to call and get a reference number to put on my paperwork or it will be lost.  Why couldn't they have told me that the first time I called!!  So I called back today and they have it now, they said it will be 15 days from today for an answer.  This makes me so mad, because if they got my paperwork the first time I might have had an answer by now!!

Waiting

I had my last psychologist appointment yesterday, it went well.  My papers were sent in to the insurance company on Monday, May 19.  So now I am waiting for insurance approval.
My husband bought me a wii fit yesterday, it is alot of fun!!  I hate working out, but this makes it fun and interesting.  I keep wanting to go further to unlock new levels, which means more and more exercising, my legs are so sore!!

Lapband journey

I am just beginning the lapband journey.  

April 14  Met with Dr. Clark, took psych eval. and went to a seminar
          21  Had my first Psych meeting
          30 Second Psych meeting
May   2   Dietician
          7   Third and Fourth psych meeting
          21  Fifth and hopefully last psych meeting!!

Now I am waiting on the psych. to write my report so it can be sent in to the insurance company.  I hate this waiting process!!!

I am 27, been married for 10 years and I have a 9 yr. old son.  I have been overweight since my son was born.  Before I got pregnant with him I was 138 lbs.   I gained 77 pounds with my pregnancy, and since then I have gained even more!!
I got my lapband surgery done July 25, 2008.  I am so excited to use this wonderful tool I have been given.  I want to be able to buy normal clothes again, I want to walk in front of people without worrying that they are thinking I am huge, I want to sit and cross my legs!!
