Surgeon Testimonial

Scot Currie, M.D.
My very first impression of Dr. Currie was that he had a beautiful smile and georgous eyes. And he was very friendly. His office staff was always friendly to me and they seemed to be on top of things. Dr. Currie strongly recommends the monthly support group meetings and following through with your office visits as scheduled. I felt that Dr. Currie explained the surgery and the risks in great detail and he was patient with all my questions and fears. I would highly recommend Dr. Currie as a surgeon and I feel that both his surgical competence and bed side manner are great qualities of his.

on January 7, 2008 4:44 pm
Wow what a difference I feel...I am on soft foods now and I just introduced chicken today....felt extremely full on my 1/4 cup of chicken....went for a twenty minute walk today with my dog...I am still tender on my left side...still had some drainage last night, very little...I wonder how long this will last?...I haven't cheated at all! YEAH FOR ME....yes I was tempted, but I fear throwing up and hurting my insides..I am a big baby...I am starting to hate drinking two protein drinks a day...having some problems getting enough to drink...am barely getting 32oz in....will keep plugging along.  Best to all of you and I will continue to pray for the best:)

My Story

Well I have been over weight for about 14 years.  I gained some weight with pregancies and the marjority of my weight was gained when I had to go on hormone injections once a month and that led to depression.  I became none active and ate a lot of junk food for comfort.   I was caught up in the vicious cycle of being depressed, so I ate, then I was more depressed because I ate, and on and on.

I have a wondeful husband ( of almost 20yrs- my high school sweetheart<3) and two great children (son 18, daughter 15) who are very supportive and I am very blessed by God to have them in my life!   My church family is also awesome, and my extended family is coming around to the fact that I have had WLS.

At the very beginning of my journey I weighed in at 259lbs, and the day of RNY Surgery (12/19/07) I weighed in at 250.6lbs.  I am very excited, yet still nervous about this wonderful journey that I am on.  I still can't believe that I actually had WLS!!!  WOW!  It all seems surreal.
