Surgeon Testimonial

Robert Davis, M.D.
I met Dr Davis at one of his information sessions. I think that is a great way to meet your patients for the first time. He was able to go over the most frequently asked info. Things like types of procedures, risks, comorbities, post op diet, etc. Then he called each patient in one at a time. I was the last there so I had to wait the longest. It still was only less than an hour of waiting. I came prepared and didn't have many questions. He answered the ones that I had very well. Dr Davis' staff is wonderful- though busy. Dr. Davis' son works in the office with him so I am sure they see alot of patients. They have been very patient with me even though I am impatient!! The Davis' have a support group that meets now. They want to expand into more of a comprehensive weight loss center with Psych., dietitian etc. at their office. While I think that surgical competence is the most important of Dr. Davis'--he also has a great bedside manner. At this point I don't have anything negative to say about him or his staff.

Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)…Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly and take lots of pictures…the transformations will make your jaw drop!!! RNY 10/31/03 – down 93 pounds!!! Good luck!

I am three years/ two months out from surgery and holding between 146 and 154. Down from my highest weight of 250. I got preg with my baby girl at 10 months post op. Can we say "Surprise!" But truly a miracle after three losses since daughter was born in1995. I started the preg at 142--got to 179. Within two weeks after delivery I was at 159-(up to 163)-- and stayed there FOREVER!  Just in the last few months (she is 19 mos!) I have gotten down to 146 and fluctuate up to 154. But I do seem to be losing slowly still. My ultimate goal is between 125 and 130. ( I am 5'1") I am just fighting myself to do the right things. I am very anemic and have to take alot of extra iron right now. I am just trying to get back on the protein train so I don't find myself scarfing out on junk food this summer. I keep 11 kids aged 7-12 for 12 hours a day and it is easy for me to play caregiver and forget to do what I need to do for me!!  I want to be down to 145 before the Austin convention! Wish me luck !!~~~
