Surgeon Testimonial

Ki Hyun Oh M.D.
Right away Dr. Oh seemed really hilarious. He joked all the way through orientation. He was very helpful and it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about. rnrnThe office staff are great. They've all been through the process and are very helpful and sweet.rnrnUpdate: They discharged me permanately because I owed them $200. He will no longer see me so I now get fills at Northwest Fill Management in Arlington- which is way better.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
My battle with weight control was seemingly never ending before I learned about lap-band surgery. I was a die-hard yo yo dieter... always either way up or a little down. I struggled with eating disorders during my teenage years which of course are devastating emotionally, not to mention how horrible they are on your metabolism. I think anorexia may have permanently screwed up my ability to lose weight like "normal" people do.

So far so good...
posted on 2/4/08 5:22 pm

Well I made it through my liquid stage thanks to some sweet corn soup that I picked up at the store (damn that stuff is good!); and I made it through the mushy stage thanks to some dank homemade mac & cheese. And now I'm finishing up my first solids day and all is well. I weighed myself this AM and I am 1 pound down since fill.

For breakfast I always have a protein drink with my morning coffee and liquid vitamins. For a mid-morning meal I fixed a small piece of toast with cream cheese and I was able to eat it all. I was thinking right after... this sucks, I have no restriction, I could still eat.... And then right after I felt totally full. So i was stoked but not too stoked because I am always tighter in the AM. So for lunch I attempted 1/2 an apple and was able to get down three bites before i started to get the gurgles in my throat. I wasn't sure if it was maybe just what I was eating so I ate a few corn chips an hour or so later and I was able to eat about 5 before being full. So I'm hoping that this is the sweet spot. I would be soooo happy if it was!
