9 months out
on February 25, 2012 9:03 am
I am now 9 months out and am down to 158 lbs!! The weight has been comming off slowly but still coming off. I think if I really worked out harder and was stricter in everything I was eating, things would be going quicker. But I am really so excited that I have passed the 100lbs lost mark!! I feel wonderful and am into a medium jacket at Costco and the size 9 jeans at Reitmans are a bit big on me, but still look great!! I only have 7 more lbs to lose to meet my surgeons goal of 150 lbs, but I think I still want to be just into the 145 lb area by the time I am finished. Time for me to seek a surgeons advice on skin removal surgery, I really need it, I look great with clothes on, but have alot of skin to be removed. My goal is to be down to 156 lbs by next post!

8 Months post op
on January 17, 2012 1:09 am
Well life has been a whirlwind in December!! ALOT of stress, I did
pretty well and even lost weight around Christmas. It has been a bit
of a struggle this past month with planning food and drinking water (not always fun in the cold weather) I tend to have more tea, and eat on
the fly.  I have been eating fairly well most of the time, just need to have more protein instead of choosing carbs. I have been making
protein smoothies lately and it is helping.I have not gone to the gym
for the last month which shows in my slow weight loss, but at least
I'm still losing. I have 11 lbs to go to meet my surgeons goal of
150 lbs, and 21 more to meet my personal goal of 140 lbs. Things
are settling down now and I am trying to get myself on a better track!!

One week away from 7 months
on December 10, 2011 12:57 pm
One week away from my 7 mth anniversary and I have only lost 5 lbs since my last post!! GRRR! I will keep telling myself this is great, and I am near my goal so things are bound to go slowly, at least this is not a stall or plateau BUT this is still frustrating!!! I am feeling great, starting to get comments about how I should stop losing now.... I'm getting too skinny.... etc. Gees, I have just made it into the overweight mark for my BMI , fcol.  I hope everyone is still doing well as we go into our Christmas celebration time.

6 1/2 months out

Well, I am still feeling great, I'm not experiencing a stall, but I am loosing weight sloooowly. I am down to 172 lbs and in a size 12 pants, but I can take them off without un-doing the button, so I am moving out of them. Trying to keep up with taking vitamins, but I forget alot! I am trying to not focus on the weight loss, I am just uping my workouts and watching closer what I eat.

5 and a half months out
on November 4, 2011 11:23 am
5 and a half months out and still going strong, I am having trouble getting out to exercise in the past week with Halloween and everything. I'm doing well food choice wise, but weight loss has slowed a bit. I'm still losing each week, but it seems to be only abot 2 lbs a week. I have only 26 more lbs to lose to make it to my surgeons goal of 150 lbs, but I want to be at about 140 lbs. I am moving out of large clothing and into medium, which is cool! I am still in a size 13 pants, but they are too big and when I actually go to buy more pants, I might be in a 11, and bypass size 12. Still feeling great except for trying to get over a cold. Skin is getting real saggy :(

My Story

Sometimes being a mom means alot of sacrifices, and I have sacrificed alot. I have four wonderful kids and a husband I have been married to for 16 years. I feel I am short changing my family with a mom who doesn't feel like 'playing' a whole lot, tired, and it is hard to be loving and intimate with my hubby when I don't love my body or really don't have the energy.  Hoping my surgery will help to bring back the good parts of the 'old' me, and take me out of this rut I am finding myself in! I don't have alot of support from my family, my mom on one hand says she supports my decision, but on the other is telling me I could just lose the weight on my own if I just smell food and not eat it! lol  My sister I know will always support me, but she is in 3rd year nursing, and feels I should just do it on my own rather than turn to such a drastic decision. I haven't told any one else yet , only 2 of my best friends who support me and are excited to see the results. First and formost I am doing this for myself, putting myself first for once!

I have had 2 carpal tunnel surgeries
                    2 c-sections
                     tonsil's out
a jet ski accident 17 yrs ago
a serious car accident 8 yrs ago that altered my life forever
