Surgeon Testimonial

Dominick Artuso, M.D.
I first met Dr. Artuso about a year ago. He had done my cousin's bypass 6 years ago and she told me how wonderful he is. When I met him I knew he was the doctor for me. As I started the process for insurance approval his staff was right there for me. Explaining and helping every step of the way. I have nothing but good things to say about his staff, they're the best! After surgery I had a small anesthesia complication but Dr. Artuso was all over it. He came to see me everyday to make sure I was okay. He has a great bedside manner and you can tell he truly cares for his patients. He ended up keeping me in the hospital for an extra day and sending me home on Easter. Dr. Artuso came in early Easter morning to make sure I was released so I could be home with my 2 little boys and the rest of my family for Easter. I highly recommend Dr. Artuso not only for his surgical skills but for his caring bedside manner and for truly being there for his patients. Thank you Dr. Artuso for everything you have done for me!

10/12 - It's been a While
on October 12, 2008 12:48 pm
So, I've been so busy lately. I have had some great moments though. My husband and I are going to NYC for 3 days for our 10th anniversary and I can't wait. My parents are watching the boys for us. Anyway, I went yesterday to buy some clothes for our getaway, which consists of going to Conan O'Brien, SNL, Spring Awakening and a romantic dinner at the Gramercy Tavern. So we ended up shopping around and after trying on my first pair of 14's I realized they were Too Big!!! I'm now wearing 12's, I can't believe it. I was on the longest stall ever, about a month long. It was horrible. I thought I'd never lose again. Then finally last week more weight started coming off....6 lbs. to be exact and I couldn't be happier. I'm now 180, down 89 lbs from my heaviest.
I do have one problems though. I have the hardest time shopping for myself. I've never been able to fit into "regular" clothes and I feel like I don't have a clue. It's very weird. And to top it off, I'm having the hardest time seeing my loss. I know I'm wearing smaller sizes but I can't get it into my head. A lot of my friends and family members don't get it.  So last night I took out an old pair of my size 22 jeans that were tight on me. So tight I had to lay down and zip them up....(I know TMI) and decided to try them on. I can't believe I was that big. I can now put both legs in one leg of my pants and pull them up. That was a huge moment for me.
I feel better and better everyday and I have lots of energy. I'm volunteering more at my sons' school and try to exercise as much as I can.
I have to update my pictures also. I'm hoping to get around to that sometime this week or next. Maybe I'll post some from our little getaway.
