Dominick Artuso, M.D. I first met Dr. Artuso about a year ago. He had done my cousin's bypass 6 years ago and she told me how wonderful he is. When I met him I knew he was the doctor for me. As I started the process for insurance approval his staff was right there for me. Explaining and helping every step of the way. I have nothing but good things to say about his staff, they're the best! After surgery I had a small anesthesia complication but Dr. Artuso was all over it. He came to see me everyday to make sure I was okay. He has a great bedside manner and you can tell he truly cares for his patients. He ended up keeping me in the hospital for an extra day and sending me home on Easter. Dr. Artuso came in early Easter morning to make sure I was released so I could be home with my 2 little boys and the rest of my family for Easter. I highly recommend Dr. Artuso not only for his surgical skills but for his caring bedside manner and for truly being there for his patients. Thank you Dr. Artuso for everything you have done for me!

6/2 - What the..............??? Went to see the surgeon on Thursday and was not looking forward to it. I'd been on a stall for about 3 weeks....yet again. So I get there and hop on the scale and it shows a GAIN of 2 lbs......what????? According to my own scale, I lost 4. What the..........?? Joanne then tells me that she's had problems with the scale all day. Mind you the scale is old and moved around. If you remember in my last post I had questioned this particular scale. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. In the end, it was decided that I follow my own scale which I believe is very acurate. It's very frustrating to expect one thing and get another.
After all that, there is light at the end of the tunnel, since Thursday I have lost 4 more lbs. (according to my scale) So that is what I'm going by!
On another note, more and more people are noticing a difference in me. I'm getting compliments all the time. It's just hard because I really don't see it. I know, I'm like a broken record.
Still feeling great. No issues with dumping or getting anything stuck. My energy is back to normal and I'm so happy with everything (except that scale). I'm getting my water in and trying hard to get all that protein in.
So here's what everything looks like at this point.
Starting weight - 269
Day of surgery - 260
Presently - 214
Mini Goal - 199
Goal weight - 145
Only 15 lbs to go for my mini goal and I want to hit it before my cruise in mid July. I think I can, I think I can........no, I know I can!!
