Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~JudyAnne~

HI EVERYONE!!! My name is Monica and I am 19yrs old. Yes 19! I weight about 266lbs with a BMI of 45.3(YUCKY) and I have been looking into WLS for about 2yrs now. In that period of time I tried different types of diets, but nothing seems to do the job. It seems as if I loose then gain DOUBLE!!! Makes no sense. So to make a long story short I started attempting to have my Insurnce to cover the surgry, but that didn't work out. So then at that point i had no choice but to find a way to some type of financing (which took me forever), and i did!!! So as of November 8th i have been scheduled to have WLS on January 7, 2008!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH thats 52 days from today!!! Holy Moly!

I am MORE than open to suggestions and tips on the do's and don'ts, and the good, the bad, and the ugly!
LOVE!

Tomorrow is exactly 1 week after my surgery... I will be seeing my doctor and he is going to remove the staples! AHHH.... Well as far as the actual surgery went, it was all smooth sailing. As for te pain, ha there are a couple of time and procedures that can be a bit painful. Starting from the beginning, when i woke up i had a breathing tube, which was painful and uncomfortable, but nothing anyone can't handle. As you know once they wheel you into your room (I totally did not remember that) you need to get up and walk!!! VERY IMPORTANT! The first few times you get up it will hurt, but just keep in mind it's for the best! You will not be able to drink ANYTHING until the next day, which is exxtreamly hard, at least for me.

UMMM lets see, oh the other thing that I really had trouble with was that next day after surgery they send you to get X-Rays, at that time you will need to drink this chalky liquid, it was nasty but you must drink all of it... Pretty much up until today the only other thing that I have trouble with is the pure protien that i was to drink. the taste is horrible, but hopefully it was just for this week and my doctor can just find something else from me to drink. Once i get back from the doc's office I will fill you guys in on how much weight I have lost! I already see a difference!
