We have found a great trail that we are going to start walking!! Also I started doing Burlesque!!!! I absolutely love it and dancing in heals has been great for the legs :] (not the back arthritis is killing me) Still after all this time NO REGRETS! So happy with my life!!

I cant believe another year has passed, in a couple months it will be 7yrs that I started this journey and I dont regret any of it! Yes, there have been issues along the way but I am happy with were I am and my life. I love food and I have to still be very careful. I just had a breast lift and augmentation which I love!! Once I heal I definatly need to start P90X again!!!! hate it but it works at toning up all the squishy parts :o]

Ok now due to thyroid and other vitamin issues and yes my love of candy! I have gained about 20lbs over the past year.. Now i'm doing P90X and now that i'm on day 5 and over some of the pain and thinking it may kill me.. I'm feeling really good! It's an incredible workout. I haven't worked out this good since I first had surg and was working out with a personal trainer.. My husband and I are both doing it. He has lost 12lbs in the past 2 weeks so we will definatly see how it goes..

just a few thoughts....

I really think i'm about to piss off alot of people but.... Why do pople have this surgery? I see alot of people who really are'nt that overweight and with really no major health issues having the surgery.. but why? I look back at the people who had surgery when I did and most are'nt around and those that are, are trying to figure out how to loose the weight they put back on over the years... I see people who get so impatient over the waiting process and all the things you need to do to have the surgery and wonder why not put that much effort into the gym? It seems like people really don't see the long term mental and physical issues related to having this surgery.. this is not a quick fix to something that took years to do...

None of us got fat overnight and none of us will loose it overnight.. we all loose at diffrent rates and once you have the surgery you then realize how mental this all is... a smaller stomach does'nt mean your not hungry, that you don't crave and want food.... You just have to learn will power and maybe instead of surgery people should work on having alittle will power now.. surgery is'nt the answer to why you're fat you are.... we all need to look at ourselves and face what made us eat and what issues we have.. surgery can't do that for us and just having surgery can't keep the weight off of us.. it's a choice we make.. obviously the ones who gain it back have more issues than weight.. if someone can't make the decision to put down the cheeseburger and icecream then how can someone committ to such a drastic change of life both physically and mentally??

My Story

I suppose it is time to update this.... I am 37yrs old I had gastric bypass 5yrs ago. I am very happily married. My husband just recently retired from the Army after 21yrs.... I am in the Va National Guard.. I was'nt always overweight that happend when I got pregnant with my daughter (thanks bree) I lost most of the weight but then gained it back before I had my son.. I have severe osteo-arthritis in my knees and back so excersising was not really an option for me..
Since having the surgery I can do most anything physically and my arthritis rarely botheres me I joind the Nat Guard after surgery I was 35yrs old I workout almost everyday.. I am still glad that I had the surgery but it has'nt always been easy and of course over the years I have regreted it here and there.. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done mentally...
For me it was'nt always what I ate that was an issue ( although I love food!) it was my not being able to excersise that was the problem..
