John Touliatos, M.D. So I finally met Dr. Touliatos. He was very nice and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. His office staff is very friendly. I have to drive 3 hours to get to the hospital and was a little bit late and was afraid the staff would give me a hard time about it but they didn't. What I liked the least was that I had to wait 2 and a half hours to see him after my appointment time. He was very clear about the risks of the surgery but I am a low risk candidate so I am not worried about any complications. He even printed out a sheet restating the risks and complications of surgery just to make sure I was aware of them. As I only saw him for about 15 minutes, I don't have much more to add now.
You are in my
thoughts and prayers
today as you have
your surgery.
You're going to do
great, and when you
wake up you'll be on
the losers bench.
Hugs,
Angel
So last week I had my WLS seminar in Birmingham, a 2 and a half hour drive from Phenix City. I didn't really learn anything. Since my sister has had the surgery, I think I'm pretty educated on the procedure (Lap RnY). I'm not saying I know everything, obviously I don't, but I was a little disappointed in the seminar, especially since it took so long to get there. Those long drives to Birmingham should prove that I'm dedicated and determined to get this surgery. I see my surgeon for the first time on April 7th and the office estimates a surgery date of 6-8 weeks from the first consultation. I hope it's sooner than that. I'm excited about the consultation, though. I don't have to do the 6 month diet so all I need is the psych eval, which is scheduled for the 28th of march, a visit to the pulmonologist, which is scheduled for April 15th, bloodwork, and nutrition class. I hope it goes by fast.
