I am 37 years old, soon to be 38, on the 21st of this month. I Have been overwieight most of my life. Have done every diet known to man. Yes I could loose the weight, but as usual would gain back DOUBLE what I had lost. Started this journey in June 2006. Had to wait 6 months for my insurance. To my suprise I was approved this first time my information was submitted and within 2 hrs. after submission. I have attended everyclass possible and have researched as much as possible. I even watched the surgery on the internet. I know I am now ready to begin a new chapter in my life. My surgery is scheduled for January 25, 2007(happy birthday to me). I am very excited and nervous at the same time. My Story 01-17-2007 -- Called Dr. Wheeler's office today to see what time I had to be at the hospital for my IVC FILTER INSERTION. Have to be there at 10:30. I can't believe the time is finally here. One more step closer to a new beginning. Not really nervous about the out patient surgery. Have had so many test done where I have been put under anethesia and have 2 prior surgeries done on my knee, the surgery does not scare me, I guess it is the unknown about what is going to happen when the surgery is over and I awake, what to expect. I will write more when I get home tomorrow. 01-18-2007 Went to the hospital today to have my IVC put in. Went really well. The procedure took about 25min. They did not put me all the way under.... because Dr. Wheeler needed to ask me to do somethings and I needed to be awake for that. Was not to thrilled with that, but it did not hurt... they gave me a local and some medicine to feel no pain. Am home now, not feeling bad at all, no pain yet....."knoock on wood" 01-24-2007 Tomorrow is my big day. The new beginning for me. I am getting ready to start all the pre-surgery stuff, you know the cleansing of my insides. This is the only thing that I have dreaded. But I know it will be over soon. Have to call this afternoon the see what time I have to go to the hospital. 01-25-2007 Well it is finallay here. I am getting ready to head to the hospital. Not nervous at all. Yesterday was not bad at all, I was really expecting the worst. I hope I do as well today and the next couple of days as I did yesterday. Talk to everyone in a couple of days. 1-30-2006 Well... finally made it home yesterday (Monday) from the hosp. Had to stay a couple of days extra due to not being able to hold anything down. Also had to have more test run...not fun. Doing much better now.... just glad to be home. There is no place like home. 02-01-2007 1 week out feeling alot better, just wish I could get this tube out and staples, I would feel alot better. Been doing OK, but not as good as I should... want to sleep alot.... which cuts down on the liquid intake, but my output has been fine. Need to figure out the protein.... YUK!!! but I will....hopefully soon....... have not got on the scale yet..... don't want to become a slave to that thing... I think I will just wait until I go to the doctor on Monday to see what my weight is. 02-05-2007 Today was my first visit since surgery.....lost 16 lbs since surgery for a total of 40 lbs since this all started. Waited til today to get on scale....... do not want to become a slave to the scale......I have a new mind set...... any loss is better than gaining..... not going to worry about how much I have lost.... just continue to do the best I can ** ** |
