Surgeon Testimonial

Robert Cywes, M.D., Ph.D.
I met with Dr. Cywes for the frist time on March 21,2007 and I was very impressed he went over what I should expect for the next 3 months leading up to my surgery.rnHis staff has been very helpful and even some of them are and were patients of his which makes me feel a lot better seeing their success.rnrn

Post Op appointment - Today was my first post op appointment and I was down 16 pounds since my last doctor visit which is great.  I was pleased and of course he told me to expect to gain some of it back saying most of it is water.  I can appreciate that but I'm going to do everything possible to make sure that I stay on the down swing.  He also explained that I had a hyated hernia which is the reason for the pain in my left shoulder.  He also went on to explain that I have no restrcition at this time other than the swelling from the surgery so I have to make sure that every mushie is a high quality protein mushie no mash taters, no soups, no gravies just meat and green veggies and my protein shakes.  I can live with that .  Well until my next update every take care.

Happy Vetrans Day to all of my vetrans past and present.  I know we will be celebrating you tomorrow but in the event I don't make it online let me say thank you to you now.

Tomorrow is my big day I'm still excited fear hasn't set in yet. I'm starving though this liquid diet is crazy but I know it's worth it.  I just have a few more hours and I will be on the loosers bench exactly where I want to be.

I want to thank everyone for their encouraging words and their prayers because this has been a long hard process and I know that this is just the beginning but I'm ready to face it head on.

Hi everyone I go for my preop tomorrow finally everything is scheduled and in place I can't wait for Monday to finally get here.  My surgery is scheduled for 3:00p.m. I guess I will get to pig out on Saturday because I don't want to eat anything heavy on Sunday and be stuck with it on Monday.  I'm still on my low carb diet and I have been taking my phentermine so I'm not tkaing them any more trying to hold on to the diet but as of Saturday it's anything goes.

Hi family how is everyone oding?  I know it has been a while since I posted but I have been dealing with a lot.  The cardiologist gae me a clean bill of health and that was a blessing because his m a told me that he was prepeared to bypass surgery on me.  And that just took me by surprise because I know I was over wiehgt but other than the diabetes I considered myslef to be pretty healthy.  I guess that's what I get for thinking.

But everything is back on scheduled on Novermber 12,2007 at 3:00 my life will begin again.  i have been doing pretty good I have been on a low carb diet for a month and I'm down to 270.  So that's a big plus I just have to keep the scale moving downward.  Well I just wanted to let you all know I was still among the living.  See you all on the looser's bench before too long
