Finally in the TEENS!!!
on April 28, 2012 10:36 am
Things are finally looking up and getting better. Eating and drinking is becoming easier praise GOD! My poor hubby has been so supportive and wonderful. He surprised me with a new Tiffany's charm for my bracelet and an Edible Arrangement bouquet. He said he wanted to make me feel better since I was having such a hard time with recovery. He did make me feel better. He even took it to another level and surprised me with a new car two days ago. He got me a 2013 fully loaded KIA Sorrento. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and family and I am very thankful!. As far as my weight is going it's going pretty good. I have dropped two dress sizes. I went from a 22/24size shirts to a 14/16. I'm losing my girls (breast). My pants size was a 22/24 it's now an 18/20. My weight is finally in the teens Hallelujah!!! I haven't been in the teens since I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 7. Omg it's been 7yrs since I was under 220. Things are looking up!

If it ain't one thing it's another....

I am finally able to sip on liquids with out pain  plus I have been getting my protein in other ways other than protein shakes since my new tummy despises whey and I'm lactose intolerant. My doctor has me eating liquid egg whites, cheese, and low sodium deli meats. I'm finally able to eat soft foods as well. I swear it feels so good to be able to chew something. Unfortunately I think I may be battling depression as well. I think I'm getting in a spot where I'm beginning to regret the decision to have RNY especially when my "new" tummy dislikes certain things. I especially hate it that I can feel every little thing that goes down my esophagus and when it hits my stomach. Another thing that bothers me is when my hubby decides to take us out to dinner and I can't have a single thing on the menu lol. For instance yesterday we took my son to his favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner last night and I absolutely hated it! I hated it because there was nothing healthy on the menu and I when I did choose some chicken breast and zucchini the darn cook put a boat load of soy sauce on it making it not even edible anymore. I was so upset, but then there was this family sitting at a table across from us and they were all heavy including the kids. As I sat there watching them I quickly thanked God for allowing me to have the RNY to change my life and my health. I told my husband that I am glad I had the opportunity and that even though I'm going through a little rough time with recovery I'm blessed and my whining days are over! Btw it's only been 3 weeks since surgery and I'm down 24lbs go me!!!!

2 weeks out....
on April 11, 2012 1:35 pm
It has been two weeks since my surgery. I've been having some issues with taking in my protein and liquids, but I went and saw my doctor today; he thought my pain when I sipped liquids could be from the incisions inside my body meaning the pouch. He thinks that I make be experiencing pain from that. He said that because I am not taking any pain meds I may be feeling what other don't feel because they are on pain meds and I'm not. Which made sense to me. He told me to take some Tylenol. Well I got home and took two Tylenol and surprisingly it worked. I was able to sip on my liquids yippee!! My doctor also told me that I can start on my soft foods yippee since I'm having a hard time with the protein and liquids. So tonight I'm having sauteed tilapia hoot hoot! Hopefully things start looking up because my stomach pains are getting on my last nerve.

1 week out
on April 2, 2012 3:48 pm
It's been an entire week since my RNY, I haven't need any pain meds which is great! I'm sore in my stomach but that's from one of the incisions. I've had some issues with being able to take in the 60g of protein and 60oz of liquids. My stomach feels like it's being pressed upon whenever I try to sip on some liquids. My doctor told me he thinks it may just be gas and told me to go and get some gas ex; hopefully that works. Yesterday my family and I decided to go to the mall and I was able to walk around fairly well. I only had to sit down a few times because of the soreness. My doctor told me to start incorporating pureed foods since I'm having an issue with liquids but to continue with the liquids as well. I've been told by friends and other that baby food is the way to go. I guess this weekend I'll look into it. Other than that everything has been great. I have lost 12lbs since my surgery and it's only been a week. Hopefully the weight will continue to melt off
