Well my surgery was on Wednesday 7/21/10 and I came home on Thursday about 7:30pm.  They weren't kidding about sending you home post-op day #1.  Today is post op day #2 and I am trying to get in all of my fluids for today but I don't think I am going to make it.  My surgery was supposed to be at 01:55pm but it kept being delayed because of the person's surgery before me.  It took Dr. Kim about 6 hours with him because he had so many previous abdominal surgeries and alot of scar tissue and adhesions.  I have to hand it to Dr. Kim he did everything he could not to open him up no matter how long it took.  I got into recovery around 11:00pm that night and poor Dr. Kim still had on more surgery to do after me, she ended up going to ICU because they were having a hard time waking her up.

Now I am just trying to learn the feeling that my body has when my pouch is full.  I definitely do not want to stretch it.  I do just want to continuously drink but I can't.  I did eat some applesauce with my potassium pill and was wondering if that counts as food or liquid?  Is it okay to drink right after I finished the applesauce?  This is definitely going to be challenging but Dr. Kim's office has a good support group and I am going to take part in it all of it.

Also, went for a walk around the neighborhood tonight.  Didn't do too bad for being post-op day #2

Well I am just about there my surgery is on July 21st.  I'm very excited and nervous.  These last two weeks on Phase Two diet have been hard.  Tomorrow I have to do my preparations for surgery (i.e. magnesium citrate).  I can't believe I am going to say this but I am looking forward to pureed foods.

This is going to be really hard getting through the weekend being on the protein/fiber supplement/100 oz/1 cup raw veggies diet.  I am just looking to the future when I can look back and say that this was all worth it.  It is very hard to do this especially when you have to fix food for your husband and child.  Any suggestions???
