Surgery complete!!!

I had RNY surgery on Sept 27th at 10:30am at Good Sam Hospital, San Jose. Post-op brought complications- stricture for 3 days, then pneumonia which had to be treated with IV anitbiotics. Released on Oct. 7 at 6:30pm/
Dr McKeen and staff at Good Sam were wonderful....friends and family close by to support me. I am blessed.
Today is 2nd full day home from hospital...I feel pretty good, still weak but getting better. I am working on menus for next week....any suggestions are welcome.

Hurrah for my new life!!!

Surgery tomorrow!

I am not one to "blog", but I've seen how reading other people's blogs helped me, so if this helps anyone, it's worth it!
Today is "cleanout" day....further explaination not needed. The liquid laxative I had to drink I mixed with Sprite Zero, so it really tasted ok to me. I plan on staying near home today, for sure.

I've had phone calls from a nurse at Good Sam Hospital going over my history. Then someone from the Bariatrics department of hospital called offering support and information. She said she would see me tomorrow before surgery-
how awesome! I'm told the anasthesialogist will call tonight.

I cleaned out the last of bad stuff from kitchen today and will take to friends house. Since I live alone, I have no excuse to keep ANY of the foods I can't have.

Next project is packing my bag for hospital. This involves laundry, so I will close for now.

I will write again when I'm "on the other side" of Gastric Bypass Surgery!!!
