Surgeon Testimonial

Paul Kemmeter
My first impression of Dr. Kemmeter was that he was caring, and had a great sense of humor.rnI still feel that way. His office staff is extremely helpful and kind. The thing that I liked least about him is that I don't get an opportunity to meet with him anymore. He passes his patients off to PA's, which is ok, but sometimes I would just like to talk with him. Future patients should not be afraid to let Dr. K. do their surgery - he's the best (in my book). Aftercare is a huge part of his process, and you are seen at 2 wks, 6 wks, 3 mos. 6 mos. and yearly there after. We had a long conversation about the surgery and it's risk as well as printed information that I read at home. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate Dr. Kemmeter a 10.rnHe's a competent, never hurried, surgeon and his bedside manner is great. rnrnI can't say enough about Dr. Kemmeter, he truly has my heart.

Friday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Going on 1 yr anniversary
on August 1, 2008 7:33 am
Haven't updated my profile for a long time....

I am at 11 months and two weeks out and have lost 88 lbs.
I am happy with my results, even tho' I have a ways to go yet. I know it will happen in time.

I feel terrific and get lots of good comments.

It's been a wonderful ride!

Nearly 3 months post-op
on November 9, 2007 6:22 am
Can't believe it's been almost 3 months since my WLS.
I am down 62 lbs and two sizes in clothes.  Feeling good and able to do so much more.  Getting lots of favorable comments from people like "Wow, do you look great!"  That sure makes it all worth it.

Counting the days
on July 31, 2007 6:59 am
My surgery is scheduled for August 17th and I am very excited and a little nervous too.  I suppose that's to be expected....there's lots of changes ahead in my life.   My son will be there for the surgery, and I think he has finally accepted that this is what Mom wants to do.   I go on 8-1 to get my pre-op liquid fast food, and also meet with the intern who assists Dr. Kemmeter.  I am anxious to talk with the dietician, and hope she will give everyone a chance to ask questions (it's a group meeting).  More info to come as I find out things....

My Story

I am a 68 yr old widow.  I am semi-retired, working three mornings a week at a local bank and teaching piano during the school year.   I sing in my church choir, am active in church Ladies Aid, belong to a Book Club and try to work in my garden.  I love all kinds of music and try to attend concerts when possible.

Having been overweight all of my life, this is my last chance to finally do something good.  I am excited about having the surgery and believe it is God's plan for me, as each step in the process seems to support that.

I have a son 34 who is married but no grandchildren.   I have a cat, Fluffy, who is my constant companion and a real source of comfort.
