All I can say is wow!
on March 16, 2008 7:04 pm
I thank God so much for giving me the chance to have this surgery! I am so happy with myself right now. Ive lost almost 60lbs and im 10 weeks post op! I feel so pretty... my self esteem is through the roof! I love going out now, I dont feel ashamed. EVERYONE tells me how gorgeous I am now, Its a great feeling! I went to church today and I was just thinking about how sad and depressed I used to feel before I had surgery. I didnt want to live. I didnt want to do anything but leave. this was a daily thought of just taking my own life. I know everyone would agree and say that  thinking and feeling like that is NO WAY to live. Its not even living.  The way I feel right now, I feel like anything is possible. im 23 years old but I feel like Ive wasted majority of my life being fat and depressed and not liking myself. I wish I could have had this surgery years ago, then I know I would have finished college, alot of things would be so different in my life.  I love me today!

Finally got my answer
on December 5, 2007 3:30 pm
Well today was the finale, i got the answer I have been so long waiting for. At about  2pm today the lady from the insurance company called me and spoke to me about 15 mins asking me different questions. And I got my FINAL YES!!!!! Can you believe that  I just submitted my paperwork yesterday and got a response today! I have been working on this since about  June of this year. It wasnt a long process but my insurance information change, so I started the process all over. when I was really determined it was probably about september or october. So Its finally finally over, I get see the Surgeon on Monday in which today I got lucky because my apointment was until two weeks from now but someone canceled so I got their appointment. The Bariatric Cordinator said that everything shouldnt take no more than three weeks maybe- so im looking at a surgery date about the beginning of january. im soo excited

Suppose to get an Answer Soon
on November 29, 2007 4:34 pm
Well after all the waiting i was doing over the last two weeks. I found out that it has all been in vain. The doctor that did my physche eval didnt see my information off yet. But yesterday I went to sign off on some papers and my information will be sent off. I should hopefully have an answer next week. I have been so persistent with this whole process. All of my doctors know me personally cuz im constanty in contact. I went to the doctor today just to do a regular check up and guess what I lost 10 lbs. I was like WOWW!!!! I dont know how it happened. i went to the doctor last time I was 357  this time I was about 347-48. I havent been eating fast foods so maybe thats whats doing it. But im so excited about getting this surgery done. I cant wait to start my new life with my new body.

Almost Done
on November 27, 2007 5:14 am
Well I guess Im different than most people. I really did my process backwards. I have a wonderful Bariatric Nurse thats works with UHC and she has been so amazing. She has guided me through the numerous of hoops and processes that one has to undergo to get approval for Gastric Bypass. Right now im just waiting for the Yes from my insurance. I feel in my heart that it wont be a problem. I also spoke with  Miss A (nurse) and she assured me that she completed all the paper work properly and there is a very very very very slight chance of a NO. So that made me more anxious. I had to do a six month diet, get cardiac clearance, pulmonary clearance, sleep study, psyhce eval. Now im done with it all. The funny thing about it, I havent even gotten a chance to see the Bariatric Surgeon yet Lol. My apt with them is on  December 17, 2007. By the time my appointment is, I should already have a Yes. Typically a person is to make the appointment with the surgeon first and let them do all the paper work, schedule all the tests, send the request to your insurance. So on December 17, 2007 when I go, only thing i should have to do is see a nurtrionists, exercise person and start my Low carb diet to shrink my liver.. So Id be on the fast track.  I might not be able to eat Xmas dinner on the flip side . I'll have to be on a diet for like 3 weeks.

My Story

Well im 23 years old, I live in Birmingham, Alabama. I have no kids. I have started this journey to have weight loss surgery. I just decided to join the website but i have been visiting over 7 months now. I have always been a big girl- every since I was little. I remember being in the 5th grade and weighing 134lbs. For someone reason that moment really just stuck in my head. I attempted my first diet in the 8th grade. I just stop eating alot of food and drunk water. I lost like 5lbs in a few days but of course I gained it back and some. I have been left out, stepped over all because of my size. I was  made fun of so many times. I had a pretty tough skin so I pretty much toughed it out in grade school and middle school. The burden became too much in highschool. Thats when you are suppose to have the time of your life and doing different and new things.  I always dressed nice  and kept myself up so if you looked at me no one would have known that I had such a major complex about my self. Many times I cried over situations that happen to me.
