Surgeon Testimonial

James Davidson, M.D.
First impression of him was very professional but not so personable. He was very informative and answered any questions I had. His staff is definitely AWESOME from the office staff to the insurance lady, Linda, to Sandy his NP.
Before surgery he met with me and we talked about the surgery and he made me feel comfortable. I wish he would have visited me in my room at the hospital after the surgery though. His NP, Sandy came by several times to check on me and I love her. She is very nice and you will feel like you can tell her anything.
I would definitely use Dr. Davidson again and feel his experience made this surgery go smooth.

Nothing much has changed in the last month.  I'm still on the feeding tube machine and have the drain out of my side.  I have lost 12 pounds this last month that I'm happy about but not my doctor.  It's just hard to gain or maintain weight on that machine.

I go in for a lot of tests in about a week.  My doctor is going to do an endoscopy down my throat and see how my leak looks.  He then may decide to either put some glue from the inside of my stomach or maybe put a stent in the hole to help new growth cells to form and close the leak.  I pray that when they test me next week all will be healed on its own and I'll be over this.

I want to thank everyone for their kind words and good wishes for my recovery.  It means more than you know!

Went to the hospital last Wednesday for some tests and I'm still leaking BUT my doctor said that he can tell it has gotten smaller.  I was very happy to hear that and hope I have definitely turned the corner with this.  He said we will do more test the first of January and for me to continue with my feeding tube and try to get in more calories.  He doesn't want me losing weight right now and said it would be healthier for me to put on about 10.  It's hard to get in more calories than 1,200 a day though with the machine.

The only really good thing about all of this is the amount of weight I have lost.  I am in 16's now but have to mainly wear dresses because of all the tubing i have at my side and gut.

Thanks for everyone's support and prayers!

Back from the hospital as of a week ago.  I now have a feeding tube in my intestines and a drain in my side that drains off whatever leaks out of my stomach.  I cannot drink or swallow ANYTHING.  I am constantly hungry because the feeding tube does not go to my stomach.  They tell me this will speed up the healilng process and I pray that it will.

I am not sick at my stomach anymore and that has been a blessing.  I am supposed to get about 1,500 calories a day through my tube (I'm on a feeding machine) but it is hard to get that much Ensure in, in one day but I'm trying.

I WILL GET THROUGH THIS!

Went to the hospital on Monday and they put me under and put a new drain in me.  They say this will probably help speed up my leak because it is a straight drain compared to the drain I had that wrapped around the whole/leak.  Both doctors seem real positive so I need to be also.  I have been extremely sick though for the last day and half.  Whenever he dye tests my stomach it stirs things up and makes me VERY sick.  I hope I start to feel better today...it usually takes about two days for my stomach acid to settle back down.  Keep Praying For Me!  Thanks!

I'm going to the hospital today to do a test to check on my leak.  I know I'm still leaking because I can see from my drain, I hope that they can maybe glue it now if my infection has cleared up enough.  Please pray for a good report, I'm in need of some good news for a change.

My Story

I'm 40 years old and ready to live the last half of my life with more quality!  I have three children, two girls (both in college) and one son still in high school.  My husband wasn't originally for this but went to the seminar with me and now is excited for me.

I was always very athletic throughout school and always thin to average in weight.  My weight problems began after getting pregnant with my first child at 20.  I gained about 65 pounds with her but lost it pretty quick after her birth.  The second daughter, almost two years later, was a different story.  I have been overweight now for 19 years with of course my ups and downs with my weight.

I originally went in to Dr. Davidson's office for the Lap Band Procedure but changed my mind by the end of the day.  I am looking forward to not being so hungry.  I  guess you would call me an overeater at mealtime and not so much a snacker.  I love my chocolate and feel that will be my biggest battle.
