James Davidson, M.D. First impression of him was very professional but not so personable. He was very informative and answered any questions I had. His staff is definitely AWESOME from the office staff to the insurance lady, Linda, to Sandy his NP.
Before surgery he met with me and we talked about the surgery and he made me feel comfortable. I wish he would have visited me in my room at the hospital after the surgery though. His NP, Sandy came by several times to check on me and I love her. She is very nice and you will feel like you can tell her anything.
I would definitely use Dr. Davidson again and feel his experience made this surgery go smooth.
Hi Lisa, wishing you
an uneventful
surgery and quick
recovery. Remember
to walk as soon as
you can after
surgery and you'll
be fine. Lots of
Hugs Talia x
Still leaking...still have my drain coming out of my ribcage...BUT...I have been told I can have thicker soups now! This will help me get in my 1,000 calories a day. Anyone out there that is reading this...PLEASE PRAY FOR MY LEAK TO HEAL...Thank you.
I went to the hospital on Monday and they did another leak/dye test and I'm still leaking but they say it has gotten smaller. I asked if they might glue the leak but my doctor said it would be best to let it heal on its own. So I'm back home with the drain still in my side drinking broth and those nasty bullets. I try and drink some drained soup every hour because I'm trying to get in 1,000 calories a day to help my healing but that is hard to do on clear liquids.
I"m ready for this nightmare to be over and have my life back. I sure hope in the very near future this is all a bad memory and I can look forward to being "normal" again. I regret having this surgery right now but I'm hoping when all is said and done I'll be happy and be able to share my experience with others and possible help someone else going through this.
I go back to the hospital on Monday so they can check my leak and possibly change my drain. I feel I'm still leaking very small cause when I drink dark things I see a change of color in my drain. If my infection from leak is almost gone on Monday they will do a procedure where they put glue on my leak and hope that cures it.
I am trying to be positive that I'm near the end of my road with this. I'm physically feeling better just hungry most of the day. I'm still on clear liquids and broth. I have been for over three and half weeks. I'm just happy I'm no longer so sick I'm throwing up every 3 to 4 hours. I'm really working on trying to be positive. They want my to drink up to 1,000 calories a day and over 100 protein a day but here lately I just can't do it. The sweet drinks are really hard to get down and on top of all that I feel a bad tooth coming on. I'll update on Tuesday with my outcome at the hospital.
I just got home from the hospital yesterday. I had a leak...I guess I kinda knew something wasn't right from the beginning...I just never healed liked everyone else I was reading. I was in the hospital for seven days and my leak is now healing and I have a drain in my side to drain the abcess that was attached to my stomach. My doctor was awesome during all of this and I feel that I was SOOOO nauseas the first few days that I somehow must have stretched the staple line with all my heaving. It has been a long past week and a half and I'm glad I'm home.
I'm having to start all over with my thin liquids for this week, full liquids next week and then mushies. I'm in no hurry to rush things. I am to stay in the house with no activity. Don't feel like posting this on the VSG board though...in some way I feel like a failure.
I'm 40 years old and ready to live the last half of my life with more quality! I have three children, two girls (both in college) and one son still in high school. My husband wasn't originally for this but went to the seminar with me and now is excited for me.
I was always very athletic throughout school and always thin to average in weight. My weight problems began after getting pregnant with my first child at 20. I gained about 65 pounds with her but lost it pretty quick after her birth. The second daughter, almost two years later, was a different story. I have been overweight now for 19 years with of course my ups and downs with my weight.
I originally went in to Dr. Davidson's office for the Lap Band Procedure but changed my mind by the end of the day. I am looking forward to not being so hungry. I guess you would call me an overeater at mealtime and not so much a snacker. I love my chocolate and feel that will be my biggest battle.
