Almost 7 weeks post-op

5 days post-op

today is day 5 post op and I'm in a little pain the area around my bellybutton is really swollen and I feel a pulling sensation there I spoke with the head nurse and she suggested I come in tomorrow and see the doctor. Other then that I'm doing fine the surgery went great according to the doctors and I was in the hospital from Friday until Monday and they sent me home without the drain and let me tell you I was excited about that. I'm just hoping that's not the reason why I have the swelling.. Also I've been on my pureed diet liquids was the first 2 days the purees aren't too bad at least not yet lol. I do have 1 big concern and that's getting in all my proteins and liquids any suggestions? I also find that I'm always so tired but when i am awake I'd much rather be walking because it makes the pain go away lol..

So it's officail I received the phone call from the doctors office and I have to be at the hospital to check in at 530AM and my surgery is going to be the first one of the day... The nervousness is starting to settle in...

Struggling With my pre-op Diet

So today I step on the scale and it didn't move  I'm still on my pre-op diet and I've lost 13lbs. but nothing else? Is this normal? When I went to the doctors he was happy to see I had lost some weight and is asking that I lose atleast 10 more pounds  and the scale just isn't moving.. any advice anyone???

My Story

Hello everyone my name is Juanita I'm a 31 year old from Riverside California. I will be having my gastric bypass surgery on 02/05/2010 and as the date gets closer the more nervous I become   a friend of mine introduced me to this site for support because I don't have anyone close to me that has had the surgery I have so many questions hopefully someone cane help me out.
To make along story short I have been struggling with my weight since I was a child I've tried everything under the sun to lose the weight including all the yo-yo dieting and nothing has worked for me. In 2002 I was on the road to have my surgery my insurance had already approved it but unfortunately I lost my job after that it has been pretty much downhill. I'm hoping after I have my surgery all the medical problems I currently have will get better and hopefully eventually go away. I'm open to meeting new people so please don't be shy I'm a very talkative and outgoing person with lots of questions.
