Ki Hyun Oh M.D. Dr. Oh is an excellent surgeon. He is thorough, very experienced and I'm glad that I chose him. He is very well respected and has done many WLS. He is very matter of fact and can come across as aloof, but that is definitely overshadowed by his competence! I have been very pleased with my experience with him from the orientation on. He is very strict with the pre-op clear liquid diet as well as with the after care and post-op diet. Compared to what I've heard from others, he is probably conservative in that way - but I'd prefer that than to rush things and risk unnecessary complications. I've had a few issues with the office staff not being as responsive as I would have liked, but in general they do a good job. I would definitely recommend Dr. Oh to anyone considering WLS.
I saw Nancy again
around 2:30 this
afternoon. She's
still pretty sleepy
and a little pain
but doing well
otherwise. She
thanks all for their
warm wishes,
congrats and prayers
and will pop onto OH
when she gets home
and settled!
Nancy, Thinking of
you today on your
surgery day. I am
so excited for you.
Remember to take
time to heal and not
work so hard, you
are important. Talk
to you soon. Karen
Congratulations to
you on your new
life.Nothing is
better than
celebrating two
birthdays a year,
but no one will
understand your
celebration of
rebirth the way we
all do.Just think
about a year from
now, it's going to
be great!!!!
Time flies! Gosh, I can't believe it's been 5 months since my surgery! I had my weigh and measure day at Curves today and decided it's past time to post another blog entry on my profile. I've tried to post one each month, but last month slipped by me and I didn't get one done... At my weigh in today I was happy to see I'd lost 8.5 pounds this month and 7.5 more inches. That's a total of 84.5 pounds and 65.5 inches since November!! I continue to feel great and have had no problems post-surgery. Well, I will admit the constipation and hair loss have hit me, but if those are the worst things that come of the surgery, I can deal with it! In the past month I have had significant hair loss, but I'm taking everyone's word for it that it is temporary. I'm working with my hairdresser because I usually get regular perms and colors so we're working out what is best for me for now. Unfortunately I had fine, thin hair prior to surgery so the hair loss is significant to me - although others have said they don't notice it... I have started adding some different things to my exercise - in addition to going to Curves, I've started water aerobics and am enjoying the variety. My appetite has picked up some and I find myself eating more some days than I probably should, but it's still going well. I do keep track of my food, etc., by posting on a couple different sites (fitday.com and my-calorie-count.com). I find it very helpful to me to journal my food intake and activities. On a personal level, life is good!! My family continues to be a great source of encouragement and support for me which is so important! The friendships and support I have found on OH has also been a real blessing to me... For me personally, support groups like OH and in-person groups are extremely important! I encourage everyone who is looking at WLS or going through it to be sure to hook up with supportive and encouraging people in your life!!
