Not as easy as it used to be!
on April 1, 2012 12:15 pm
I'm finding that the diet which used to help me lose a lot of weight very quickly in the past is not working so great this time around.  Seems to take forever to lose a few pounds and then weeks of stalls.  All the more reason I know that getting the sleeve is right for me!  I guess some practice with patience will also do me some good for post-op when I might hit stalls.  Can't wait for a surgery date!

Story of my life...
on March 2, 2012 6:03 am
I have struggled with my weight all my life.  Since about 4 or 5 years old I was considered "fat"- by today's standards, probably only a little bit.  I had never been obese.  In highschool and college I was constantly dieting and yo-yo'ing back and forth with my weight.  In 2005 we finally figured out something was wrong with my thyroid.  After getting that fixed up I gave dieting one last shot and lost a very significant amount of weight doing the 6 week body makeover diet.  I also got myself a tummy tuck - which was just fantastic - and spent a few years in a beautiful body at a great weight.  For the first time in my life I was completely happy and satisfied with myself.  Then I got sick and gained a lot of weight.  Right after that I got pregnant and gained even more weight!  At this point, I was definitely obese Finally I decided that I could either continue to yo-yo my entire life, or I can do something that will help me keep the weight off for good.  So I met with Dr. John J Gonzalez and he felt that I would be a great candidate for the sleeve.  My insurance company required 4 months of a pre-op diet before surgery is to be scheduled.  I decided to get back on my 6 week body makeover diet and get as much weight off as possible.  I have about 60-70 pounds to lose and I will probably lose a good portion of that pre-op.  I want this sleeve because losing has always been easy for me...keeping it off has always been the challenge.  So I'm hoping that this surgery will help me conquer this weight battle once and for all.
