My trip so far....
on September 19, 2011 4:08 am

I did my MGB just over a year ago,

I am 6'-1" tall but weighed in at 286 lbs before surgery. I have always been  an “exercisoholic” so I jogged at least 3 or 4 times a week however the constant pain from my knees (from weight) was not fun. At any rate a year latter I am now down to 187lbs and for the last 5 months have not changed in weight one iota!

My waste size went from (wildebeest 44) to a  (Slim Jim 34) and that’s with a belt on!. First is feel like a ballerina....well at least as light as one! and I continue to jog about 6 miles per day but with no pain! (did I mention that I am faster than a speeding train too?)

I get my blood test done every few months and all signs or life look good. The only thing I regret is not having done the MGB years ago! I am eating normally (6 times a day) although I had to learn to experience the taste of food all over again, many items that appealed to me in the past have no relevance to my taste buds now and some items that I abhorred in the past I now like!
The strangest thing is the odd glare you get from people whom you have not seen in a while and the puzzled look they have on their face, especially the ones that you used to tease you about your weight!

I am still trying to get used to my new self but my greatest reward has not been the weight loss itself but experience of feeling and becoming healthier.
