Surgeon Testimonial

Edward Lin, M.D.
What was your first impression of him/her?

He was soft-spoken but extremely affable.. Inviting and even funny. He definitely put me at ease with his smile and they way he welcomed my questions

How did your impression change over time?
It only got better.. He's really Cool

How would you describe his/her office staff?

The staff at Tri-State bariatrics are so professional. The entire staff was pleasant and knowledgeable

What did you like least about him/her?

There was nothing that left me room to question him or dislike anything that transpired between us

What should future patients know about him/her?
He is very Intelligent comforting along with professional.. Feel free to joke and ask whatever you please.

How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?

He speaks about post-op support groups and visits frequently to aid in your WLS journey

Does he/she have a structured aftercare program?
Yes!

How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
How would you rate him/her overall? AN 8.0 AFTER SURGERY I MAY UP THAT

which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?
Both are wonderful however I would take surgical competence over EVERYTHING!

Quick Update
posted on 4/4/11 10:15 pm
Its been nearly four months since I last updated you guys. Oh how my head is spinning and my nerves are taking hold of lil ol' me.
SOooo, as you know I decided not to follow through with my surgery in  attempts to continue to lose the weight on my own.

LETS JUST SAY I KNOW WHEN IM BEAT!

I have jumped back on the horse and im not getting off until im in a hospital and the nurses are waking me up to tell me my surgery went well. I had gotten all the way down to 300.6(Only if you knew how bad I wanted the scale to say 299.9) then slowly but surely the weight started to pick up again, I guess you can say I began to get comfy and those little things that worked before for me no longer had any effect. I consume large amounts of water I tend to stay away from Rice unless its Sushi- I dont eat much pasta or bread however I find myself at 314.8 as I sit here.
SMMFH!
I can no longer fool myself into thinking this is a battle I can win alone. The only part that make me a little sad is knowing that my sister wont be here to weather this storm with me (Im in GA shes in NY) although I know she'll be a constant reminder of my own will.
I have a Consultation scheduled with Dr. Edward Lin @ Emory on the 27 of this month. Im nervous yet ready to get it over with. I'll be taking a friend of mine with me since the office requires you to have a support person with you. I'll let you know how it goes.
Pray for me. If you have any advice for me I'd love to hear/read it.
