The staff at Tri-State bariatrics are so professional. The entire staff was pleasant and knowledgeable

What did you like least about him/her?

There was nothing that left me room to question him or dislike anything that transpired between us

What should future patients know about him/her?
He is very Intelligent comforting along with professional.. Feel free to joke and ask whatever you please.

How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?

He speaks about post-op support groups and visits frequently to aid in your WLS journey

Does he/she have a structured aftercare program?
Yes!

How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
How would you rate him/her overall? AN 8.0 AFTER SURGERY I MAY UP THAT

2 Weeks and 2 Days out of Surgery
on January 4, 2012 12:34 pm
Ive been extremely lazy! I sign on and debate writing and always close my laptop.
SOOOO
Surgery went well on the 19th of Dec however I stayed in the hospital and extra 3 days (5 in all) due to my inability to even consume 2 oz of liquid in an entire day. YESS! In a day. I had incredible abdominal pain and didnt want to get out of bed.. Didnt feel like gas to me- which is what EVERYONE said it was and low and behold day 4 the gas started to work its way out from every area i didnt even know it could..lol

My last day in the hospital, 2 days before Christmas I was finally able to Drink 1.5 oz every 3 hrs. and I didnt want to spend xmas in a hospital although I have no-one at home I decided it was time to make my exit. My co-worker/friend came and got me from the hospital and dropped me off at Walgreens so I could get my prescriptions. Sad to say Walgreens didnt carry the pain meds I needed so I didnt get anything. I was prescribed nausea medicine (patches) a Stool softener and Zoprafan I think for pain. Still havent filled the prescription to this date. For my pain ive been grinding up Vicoden but not too often I can usually "stomach" the discomfort.
Im rambling so most of these sentences will be run-ons.
Uhh I have a lot on my mind and tryna touch key points.
OHH! I didnt feel like walking my first few days in the hospital so I didnt and the pain increased- So, My people WALK!!! It does help I felt sick a few times and even weak but in the long run it helped in getting me to move my bowels and of course with gas.

PAUSE the tape! Why did I wake up with a catheter In my "Garden" Lol- I was sooo embarrassed and peeking at people like- who pryed my legs and lips open to get that in there.. OMG. Im silly. But I had them take it out the next morning.
I was BLESSED beyond measure to have Two nurses who were SAINTS. Christie and Jay (Male nurse) at Emory Midtown Hospital ROCK! unit 31 is where I was and they made me so comfy and obliged the few requests I had.
Sigh.. Idk what else to write besides my numbers
Before surgery I didnt adhere to the Liquid diet at all- in all honesty but I was advice to take a WHOLE bottle of Milk of magnesium EWWWW I have always loathed this medicinal creation- just makes me think of spit although it disgust me I took it and from the 13 of DEC to the 19 I lost 11lbs. I was 317.8 on the 13th and on the 19th SURGERY DAY I was 306.4. Im am now 288.6 WOW! Crazy right? I havent been in my two's since junior HIGH! My skin is drying out well my hands at least but I think its because im not getting in enough water. From time to time I feel light headed and the first week home I had the most intense pain on my right side by my largest incision which I thought was a hernia because when I would stretch or move too fast It would kinda bulge out and remain hard for a few short minutes. Come to find out its the incision where they removed my stomach from and there are stitches on my muscle wall as well as my skin so thats the pain and bulging u may feel.
Damn im all over the place with this post.
Im still on my mushy/soft stage however I tried o eat a piece of chicken from Pizza hut.. OH man the agony I faced I felt like it was alive in my esophagus and was trying to escape.. i didnt throw it up though, it went down SLOWLY AS ALL EVER, but it went down.
