Surgeon Testimonial

Todd Eibes, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Eibes seems like a very business like person. I can tell he likes what he does and you can also tell he cares about his patients. Dr. Eibes was very helpful to me after surgery and at the office visit. I had many questions about my after care and he was very patient with me and very informative.

Week One down more to go
on June 12, 2008 5:32 pm
So far so good.  Went to see the Doc on Wednesday and everything is good.  Down 13 pounds since April so, that was good news.  Of course, my scale at home says differently...too bad I can't go by that one.

I had to go back on my BP medicine and I thought I would have to.  That's okay...I'm looking forward to someday not needing them.

I have to get better at puree...ing my food.  DUH!  I've been eating alot of soup and pudding.  Can't wait to get to regular food that's for sure.

Later....

Ta Da

Well, before I knew it.  My surgery happened on Monday and I just got home today.  I'm in a little pain but will be taking my drugs for awhile.

I had to stay over night because the swelling was pretty bad.   I feel on the mend today.  A little tired but ok.

I REALLY need to practice on my sipping and eating.  I could only eat a half of a container of the SF jello.  AMAZING!

I can't wait to be healthy!

Here we go
on April 25, 2008 5:48 pm
Well, here we go.  The date is set and I am sure it will be here sooner than I know.  I am always thinking about this surgery and I will finally be doing something positive for me.  Will post later.

My Story

My story probably sounds familiar to many people.

Where do I start?  I have been overweight my whole life.  And, it seems as though I have been trying to succeed at this diet thing for ever.  I have tried all the pills and all the diets, I lost weight but only temporarily.  And now I weigh more than I did when I was pregnant or at any other time.

I use to really enjoy exercising and I gave it my all.  But now my knees and feet hurt, so that really limits me on what I can do.  I hope that after surgery I can lose some weight and be a little more mobile and it won't hurt so much.

I can control my eating in the morning and when I am at work.  After I get home from work everybody watch out, it's just me and the fridge.  And after supper, as much as I try...I snack and snack and snack.  Hopefully, with spring weather around the corner I will be able to get outside more in the evenings.  At least that's the plan.

I am looking forward to life with the Lap Band.  I feel it will bring me better health and finally break this cycle of eating and retrain my food habits.
