Hello!! My name is Nayeli, and I'm 24 and I recently had the rny surgery.
All is well so far, I can't wait to see how much my life is going to change
in the next year! stay tuned !!!

Its frustrating!! on October 20, 2008 11:33 pm
ok.. so I haven't posted in a while.. so here it goes. I had my 6month checkup @ the beg. of the month. I met with a nutritionist, who basically went over some of my lab works with me. All looked good, except my vitamin B and D were low- so I need to make sure I take those. (to be honest I've been lagging on the vitamin taking) which is soooo dumb on my part. Probably explains why my hair has fallen out so much, and why I've been so tired lately. Anyway- it's all good- I've purchased my vitamins, and I am going to be more responsible. Also, I've been working out still, but kinda shifted from 5 days a week to 3- mainly due to being sick for like 2 weeks, and issues with my gym key. But Problem solved now, so I'm back to my old routine as of today. i've really hit a stand still this month with my weight loss. So I'm going to start keeping a log of what I eat, and start working out more. I'm hoping to loose another 9lbs before the 2nd of Nov (I'm doing a 5k for the Komen foundation) if I reach my goal, that'll make it 100lbs LOSS! eeps!! let's hope I get there :) I'm happy though. Started cleaning my closet, and umm NOTHING FITS!! bittersweet, I love my clothes, but i am soooo happy they don't fit. It's nuts. Anyway- time for bed, I'll post again soon I promise :) X

Hola! So I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm about 5 and half months post op! wooo!!! and I'm down about 82lbs I think. that's freakin crazy ain't it? So here's the thing kids.. I honestly don't see it. ha. sounds like I'm fishing for compliments, but I'm not. I don't really see it, which kind of sucks, but not so much. It's cool though, my clothes def. fit bigger, and stuff, I just don't see it. The good thing is I feel it! I feel a lit healthier, and am A LOT more active which feels like my true self. I work out about 4-5 times a week. And people seam to be noticing a lot more, which is nice, it's just weird. I can't wait till I see what everyone else does :) alright- well I really will try to be a lot more consistent with my postings. X MUAH

All is well! woo hoo! well, I hope. I have to have lab works done, I guess everyone does at 3 months. Dr. Paya said everything seams to be going well. I'm also happy to report I've lost 55lbs! that's pretty exciting! I can't believe it. I'm also doing well with the working out.. still doing an hour a day, sun-thurs. I've even made a new gym friend..lol anyway, I'll write some more later, as for now- it's off to sleep I go! :)

So.. on June 16, 2008 11:47 pm
So i've lost 50lbs!! woo hoo!! I'm hoping to loose another 5 pounds by next tuesday, but it's all good if it doesn't happen. but tuesday, is my 3 month check up. So i've been working out 5 times a week, and I work out about 1hr-1.5hr. And it basically consist of walking at a moderate speed, which is kinda hard because I seriously have the shortest legs. so I walk..and jog walk and jog..then walk.. I also started doing some weight training for my ginormous arms, oh and stretching for sure! but let me tell you..I sweat like there's no tomorrow- and i get as red as a tomato. hmm what else is going on.. oh yeah!! I got braces, kinda look like ugly betty, but it's all good, it'll ALL BE WORTH IT! I also signed up for a 5k walk/run on for Nov. 2nd in San Diego which I'm so excited about, it's for the komen foundation. so, when I had my 2 month anniversary I got my ears pierced (which I didn't have before).. so I'm thinking for my 3 month, I'm going to get some earrings!! I saw some really cute juicy couture heart ones, yay how exciting! lol ok, enough with the rambling, I'll post again soon. Oh! and pics too I swear, camera is busted, but I'll work it out. :)

I started with walking on the treadmill..and have also started training with a new friend 2 days ago (and let me tell u, its kickin my ass, but he's putting my butt in gear). Today I was sooooooooo sore, and he couldn't make it to our workout..so i came home..rested for a bit got my sore self up, stretched and went to the gym, so I'm pretty proud of myself :) but still sore! hmm let's see what else.. oh! I've lost about 45lbs since surgery, which is pretty awesome:) I'm hoping to loose another 10lbs by my 3month checkup, but we'll see. ok well I'll update soon I swear, including pictures!!! :)

My Story
So here’s the gist of the story;
Although I have pretty much always been overweight I don’t really think I had any serious insecurity issues in regards to my body. I was a very active child and teenager, I participated in sports, was very active in school, and I never really let me weight stop me from doing anything I wanted to do. BUT-and it’s a big one. Things really started changing when I started College. I started gaining more weight; I stopped being active mostly due to being in school fulltime, and working fulltime, and well lets face it, things finally sunk in. I really realized how important it is take care of body, and much appearance affects our everyday life.
My mom, who is my hero, has always been over weight, has diabetes amongst many other health conditions, oh-and diabetes also run on my dads side of the family. Anyway- I have really seen how health issues related to weight can really destroy your body, and how they affect not only yourself but also your entire family- and to be quite honest- although my mom is my hero, I don’t want to end up like her. So I decided to do something about my problem now, now that I am young, and have not yet developed any serious health problems, I want to prevent them!
And so it began…
I attended a seminar on the gastric bypass procedure on May 8th 2007 (I know because it was my roomies bday, and she went with me ?). Anyway, after the seminar I really got serious about this- so I made an appointment with my primary doctor. So I met with her about a month later, she told me that my medical group required me to take a 6 month class about weight loss surgery before she can submit a request for a consultation with a surgeon. So the next class started in September 2007. (Which seamed like forever!!!!) Anyway, I absolutely loved this class!!! I learned so much, and it really answered many of my questions about weight loss surgery, and helped me feel a lot more comfortable about the whole procedure.
So the class ended 02/11/08.
02/12/08 my primary doctor submitted it for approval (consult with surgeon).
02/19/08 found out my consultation was approved.
02/20/08 had my consultation with Doctor Mark Paya. Everything went great!
Set up a goal surgery date for March 25th, 2008.
03/06/08 I had my psych evaluation- it was quick and painless!
03/10/08 my surgeon submitted for my final approval- the surgery approval.
03/11/08 met with the nutritionist, and had my pre op appointment.
03/17/08 Happy St. Patty’s day! Found out MY SURGERY WAS APPROVED!!
So here’s what’s to come..
3/18/08 I have my pre op lab works and EKG.
3/22/08 start my clear liquid diet.
3/25 THE BIG DAY!!!!! Eeeps!! I’m soooo scared, and soooo excited!! WISH ME LUCK!!!!
