Babak Moeinolmolki
I started my journey in January of 2011. I went to see my Regular doctor and after reading an article on GERD saying that RNY could heal this....I was AMAZED!!! So of course I took the article with and she read it and, she said I think you could benefit from this. I am 100 lbs. overwieght, but it is hard to tell because I am tall. I saw Dr. Moein in March.......LOVED him from the first time I met him. He and his office are awesome and will answer any questions you might have. He has a GREAT bedside manor and really listens to you. I had my surgery August 17, 2011, so I am home healing. I have no pain other then gas!! He would get my VOTE every time!!!!! I think he is the BEST!

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Hmmmm.....I never could understand how I even got heavy, but lack of exercise would be my guess. I was never a big eater, yet I am sure people assume I was. People close to me knew this was not the case. I went on two diets in my life and they both worked. I had to exercise a lot and watch what I ate and the weight came right off. As I got older it got harder. I suffered with GERD most of my life. I got to the point where I was ok with my weight and figured this is where my body wants to be. I was really ok with that. I never had a bad body image. In fact, if there is a such thing...I never saw the fat??? Of course that was until I had this surgery and looked at before pictures. That was an EYE opener, for sure. This is the best thing I have EVER...

6 months out this week!
on February 12, 2012 3:31 pm
This has been the fastest 6 months EVER!!!  I am almost to goal and I know now it may get a little harder to lose as I get closer. I am not complaining at all though.  This has been the BEST thing I have EVER done for myself! I love getting dressed now and feel so good. I can climb stairs without getting out of breath.  I work out at the gym 2 hours everyday, but one. This really is a mindset you need to come to terms with. So for anyone reading this and trying to decide what to do...I wish I had done it sooner, way sooner!!!!  Good Luck with your journey!

3 weeks out
on September 6, 2011 1:51 am
Well, I am 3 weeks out tomorrow and I am feeling pretty well. I was lucky and had no real problems. I go back to the doctors the 29th, so we shall see how much weight I have lost since my first one week visit. This is not really all about the numbers for me, but it will be nice to see the scale below 200.  I am thinking it has been several years since I have seen that. Not sure when that will happen and I am not even worried, cause I know it will. This is just the tool I needed. I am anxiously awaiting my sisters surgery tentatively Oct 4, we are thinking she may go sooner.  We are very supportive of each other and she has been there for me.  I cannot wait till we are losing together!!!! She is having the VSG and she is so ready to get started.  I know she will do great!!

I am wondering what will become her favorite thing to eat or drink.  I am addicted to Decaf Hot Tea!!!  I drink it all day long. Never drank it before, but whatever works. I am eating a lot of different things, without any problems either. I pray it stays that way. I had tuna steak for dinner yesterday..YUM!!!  Of course I only had about 3oz. but it was very tasty. Was all I could eat though. I can start to eat regularly the of this month. I never pureed anything, but I did make sure everything I ate was soft and I chewed really well. The thought of pureed anything turned my stomach, so I passed that up. I was very cautious though about what I put in my mouth. SF Popsicle's are the best to get all of your liquids in, I still use them every day. Loving cream soups too.
