Surgeon Testimonial

Stanley Rogers M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Rogers was that he was so easy going, had a wonderful personality and took time to answer every question my husband and I had. He explained the benefits and risks of the surgery and complimented me on my research and readiness. In fact since I had planned to have surgery at John Muir which wasn't approved by insurance, I came to him with all my tests completed. He was thrilled and said I was the 1st one ever to come prepared to go and he said let's schedule surgery. My impression has not changed since surgery.

Esther his Assistant is very nice and responds timely.

Karen at the front desk is a little regimental but when I reached out to her in a friendly way she has come through like a dream when it comes to scheduling.

I had questions and got called back quickly by a nurse practioner and told them I would like to see more of a schedule in the post-op program. I was told that they are re-doing it.

I would recommend Dr. Rogers to anyone, he is an excellent surgeon who understands people.... he plays clarinet too!

'Twas the night before surgery....
posted on 1/7/09 8:34 pm

and it's 8:30p.m. and I am on the 'puter typing this.  LOL

The bowel prep was NOT as bad as I had anticipated!  I drank my magnesium citrate at 4pm and it's working like a charm!  I really was prepared having done the colonscopy 7 months ago, so this was a piece of cake.  It's not that bad.  I did the lemon and drank it up and chased it with an equal amount of water.  What I learned from my OH family/friends is that baby wipes work!

I made it through the liquid diet with no problems.  I had done Medifast in the past so I knew how to space things apart.  Liquid diet was the original "fast food" you drink it down as quick as possible, chase it with an equal amount of water and tummy is full!  The trick to surviving it is to pace yourself and plan for a little tea or soup broth in between to keep the tummy full.  You make friends with the nearest restroom quickly!

I am at peace and excited to start on my new journey.  I look forward to kicking diabetes to the curb and to be a much healthier me.

See you on the other side.... more to follow after surgery!
