2 Days
on July 11, 2012 7:33 am
Well in 2 days I will be having my surgery.  This is day 6 of the protein/liquid only diet and i'm sick of drinking the protein shakes.  I think yesterday, I couldn't drink the 3 required so I drank water most of the day.  Even though i'm drinking plenty of water, I feel very weak and tired.  I'm waiting for the nutritionist to call me back, I need a to know is there something else I can drink.

Well my surgery date is now 4 days earlier than previously scheduled.  I'm excited and nervous - I plan to take a picture on Friday, June 15th, my birthday because my goal weigh-in is 150 lbs by next year on my birthday, wasn't sure if it's possible to lose 120 lbs in the first year, and I didn't realize at the time that's a lot of weight to try to lose in the first year, but looking at some of the before and after pics, and reading the various testimonies, my goal is attainable.

36 Days Prior

Well in 36 days I will be having my surgery, i'm starting to get a little nervous but excited at the same time.  I have shared my decision to have surgery with a few people, mainly family and close friends.  I found out yesterday my friend shared my plans with another lady (Ms. B) simply because she thought about having the surgery and told Ms. B about it and mentioned that I was having the surgery and Ms. B told her about her sister-in-law who had the surgery about 10 months ago and she has loss at least a 100 lbs, but she is not doing well after the surgery, because she is not able to digest solid foods.  Well Ms. B, begin to tell me that because her sister-in-law is having issues that she don't think I should have the surgery and that I can diet and lose the weight on my own and she wanted to share a book with me.  Well, I didn't want to be rude, but I told Ms. B., that I wasn't interested in reading the book right now, but if it can help me after surgery, I would read it but I have decided to have the surgery for a number of reasons, mainly my health and not just because I want to lose weight fast.  She still felt that weight loss can be accomplished without surgery.  I simply said, not for me because I've tried many weight loss programs and dieting on my own and right now i'm in too much pain to exercise because of the arthritis, I'm ready.

I continue to pray about my decision and i'm praying for the entire surgical team, nuring staff, post doctor visits, support teams, everyone involved from this point on because I will, like many others will need that support system after surgery.

Counting the days.
