Surgeon Testimonial

Jorge Urbandt
Before and after the surgery, I had a million questions. Dr Urbandt and his team were very patient with me and answer every single one of my questions with out a problem.rnrnI can't say anything bad about him. I don't think its possible. He's a great guy and a great surgeon.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Before learning about bariatric surgery, I would binge eat, then I would feel bad. I would then beat myself up for doing something so wrong. Then I decided, I had enough. I had to quit doing this.

1 year!

Holy crap. Tomorrow is 1 year post op!

I uploaded some new pics. Yeah, I weigh 130lbs in those pics. As of today I weigh 127 because I don't tend to eat much of anything in late spring to early fall because well, it's too hot and humid in Pittsburgh to eat.

Anyways, here's to 1 year post op!!

Crashed...

onto another plateau that is. This sucks. It's almost as if every 10 lbs I lose now, I hit a plateau. I'm just starting to get angry. I get so stoked to see the numbers on the scale but when I see the numbers stay the same, it just kinda bums me out.

Well, here's to hoping the scale moves soon.

I did it!

I have reached my surgeon's goal. I am so stoked! I am down to 150lbs! Actually when I weighed myself this morning it was 149.8 but hey, I passed 150 lbs!

Woo hoo go me! I have less than 30lbs to go my goal. I am definitely going to have to seek out some plastic surgery. I have a whole bunch of gross and nasty skin just chilling on my stomach and my arms and thighs. I would also love to get a breast lift but hey, I'm not gonna get greedy.

Well I'm supposed to be paying attention in class and I'm kinda not so, I gotsta go.

Bye for now.

Less than 40 to go
on October 18, 2009 9:56 am
I have less than 40lbs to go to my goal weight. I am so stoked!

In about 5 months I have gone from a jean size of 24 down to 11/12. My shirts have gone from 2xl to medium.

My son's birthday party is coming up but I'm sure I won't have any problem as long as I keep focused. Yea there have been some b-day parties since my surgery but none with this many people. Some of the people coming haven't seen me since my surgery, I wonder if they remember what I looked like before surgery.

Well Steelers are playing now. So I gotta show my love for the black and gold.

GO STEELERS!!!

BLAM!!!

Ouch, that hurt. Yea, I hit another plateau. I can't seem to get away from 169lbs. I've now lost 60lbs since my surgery day. Yea, woo hoo...   I want to get down to 120lbs. I really do but I can't seem to budge off this crappy plateau. My surgeon wants me down to 150 but at my height, 150 is still considered obese for me. I'm only 4'11 so I gotta work with what I got.

So let's see....
19lbs to surgeon goal
49 lbs to my goal

I can do this. I can so totally do this!
Wish me luck!

My Story

My name is Christina. I am 23 years old. I went into surgery at 229.8. I've always been a bigger person except for when I was born. I was the heaviest child my mother had at 6lbs even. I went to see my PCP for a regular check up and decided I would ask her about gastric bypass. She said since I have been working at dieting since as long as I can remember, and have had very little progress, that I would be a great candidate. She referred me to Dr. Jorge Urbandt in Bloomfield, PA.

It's been 3 weeks since my surgery, today being 6/19/09. I have lost 25.2 lbs and still working on it. Hopefully, my success will inspire other people to get themselves motivated and get healthy.
