An update......finally
on July 10, 2008 11:41 am
I know.....this update is way overdue! I don't have a lot of time to sit on the computer with 8 children on summer vacation.....ugh!
My weight loss is definitely slowing down:( I know that it is probably because I am not getting those darn protein drinks in......I am just so sick of them! I have been trying to mix up some new recipes but to be honest I just don't like any of them.
I still love my RNY though, the only side effect I have had is dumping and that has only happened a couple times. I seem to have a dumping issue with fatty food more than sugar. Of course I haven't really had much sugar, other than a few bites of my hubby's dessert:)

I love this thing called RNY

Oh my goodness.....how I am loving my new life! I have lost 28 pounds and I feel fabulous:) I can eat anything without complications. My husband and I eat out a lot, we now share a meal, I eat a few bites and he eats the rest.....the result, we are both losing weight:)

Feeling normal again:)
on March 4, 2008 11:45 am
Yeah! I am finally feeling back to normal:) The pain for the first few days was much more intense than I had anticipated. I went home the day after surgery, with the wonderful liquid pain med.......yeah!
Drinking, drinking, drinking........ugh! I am getting all my water in and I am sick of protein drinks (who isn't). I have found that making a protein drink with at least 30 grams of protein and taking about an hour to drink it, for breakfast, lunch and dinner........is the easiest way for me to get all of my protein in. As far as the water, I start a 1 liter bottle in the morning and carry it around with me, sipping constantly until it is finished then I start on #2 1 liter bottle. So far getting 64 oz down has not been a problem.
Looking forward to using a spoon soon and tasting something savory:)

Surgery on Monday
on February 22, 2008 7:00 pm
Well......the time is finally here and the first day of my new life is on Monday, Feb. 25th. I am excited and incredibly nervous all at the same time. I still haven't told anyone about the surgery. In time......I will want to share my story with people that love me, but for now I am going to keep my story between my husband and I.

My Story

I have had weight issues my whole life, however, the majority of my weight was put on after giving birth to my children. I recently lost 25 pounds the "old fashioned" way, I had gotten to my highest non-pregnant weight ever, 255 pounds!! I am so excited about having this surgery, I feel like it will finally give me control of my food and weight:) Like a lot of people, I have always been able to lose weight but never keep it off. I also have a "shape" no matter how much I weigh, so people don't realize how much I weigh and just how unhealthy I really am!I can't wait to lose this weight and not have all of these extra pounds to carry around and to be all together healthier.
