Surgeon Testimonial

Bobby Bhasker-Rao M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Bobby is an amazing surgeon. He has great statistics and an excellent reputation. Not to mention he is a nice person also. The staff in his office is very helpful. Their pre-op education, and post-op follow up is very thorough. I give Dr. Bobby an A+ on both surgical competence and bedside manner. He is definitey ONE OF THE BEST!

Merry Christmas and the end of a crazy year is...
on December 18, 2008 8:48 pm
I am thrilled that the end of 2008 is approaching and the beginning of 2009 is right on it's tail.  I have had an overall crazy year.  RNY surgery, gallbladder surgery, bought a house, started a new job, started working two jobs, lots of friends and family that are going through crap...etc.etc.  I am a few days over 8 months out from surgery, and I have so far lost 105lbs.  I have so much more energy, patience, and drive...not to mention I'm just overall so much happier.  I eat normal.  I'm trying to up my protein, and the only thing I have to guard against on a daily basis is constipation :P.  So I'm looking forward to a new year.  My first year in a long time that I won't be obese.  My surgery has changed my life for the better...for the much better.  I'm grateful the Lord allowed me to have this tool to make my body and mind healthier, and I vow to use it to the best of my ability.  So here's to a crazy 2008 and welcome to a healthier 2009!!  God Bless us EVERYONE!

Only 3 months, but what a CHANGE!!
on August 1, 2008 8:28 pm
I am sitting on my couch after a long day of work, counting my blessings.  Since my surgery on April 14, 2008, I have already lost 68 pounds.  I feel so much better.  I have gone from a size 26 to size 18-20, and have tons more energy.  I am grateful for my supportive husband, and blessed children.  Also, my precious  friends and family who love me no matter what size my belt may be.  I have just started a new job as a Bariatric Program Coordinator at a hospital here in the valley.  I am so excited to use my experience as a nurse and a bariatric patient to help others.  God is good all the time.

My Story

Hello guys...I did not do a very good job of telling my story from the beginning.  So I'll go back a little.  In 2004 I gave birth to my little girl.  During that pregnancy, I literally "ate for two".  I gained 66 pounds with that pregnancy.  After she was born, the weight did not come off, and then we got pregnant again.  By the end of 2007, I had gotten to about 270 pounds and was miserable.  I have an amazing husband, two beautiful children, a great career, and I'm very involved with my church and I love the Lord with all my heart.  But my weight was killing me.  My feet, knees, hips, and back hurt ALL the time, I was diagnosed with clinical depression, started on medication, and was really at my wit's end.  I had my gastric bypass surgery on April 14, 2008 and have never looked back.  As I write this, I am 3 and a half months out, and I've lost 67 or 68 pounds.  I feel SO much better.  This decision is truly life changing.
