Surgeon Testimonial

Morris Washington, MD
Dr. Washington is an EXCELLENT surgeon. He is caring, compassionate, and has great bedside mannor. You can tell he really cares about his patients, individually. He don't just do his job, he IS his job. I would recommend Dr. Washington to anyone. I wouldnt have chosen any other surgeon. He made me feel safe and i knew he was on top of things. When i started running a fever, even though it went away, he kept me another night. He's always got a smile on his face. I thank God that i found Dr. Washington!

update :-)
on August 31, 2011 3:31 pm
well i'm 9 days postop. things are going pretty good. ive lost 29 pounds total since august 7th (which includes my preop diet). but since surgery (the 22nd) ive lost 12 pounds. i had my postop follow up w/ my surgeon yesterday. he took the bandages off of my incisions. they still have sterri strips on them but he said theyll fall off by themselves. i told him that my 1 incision on the right still hurts. he said that it was the incision that they pulled the stomach out of and it was longer. he said they put stitches in that incision for the reason so that i dont get a hernia there. i didnt know that or i wouldnt be zipping around like i am. its still hurting. i started cream soups and milk yesterday. im keepin everything down and not had any nausea. which is great! ive tried cream of: cheese, onion, and brocoli and cheese. they were all pretty good. i like the sugar free hot cocoa w/ milk for breakfast. overall im glad w/ how im feeling and doing postop and happy about my loss so far. every night at dinner time i do smell what my mom's cooking and i want some SOOOOOO bad! i cant wait to have purreed foods! cant wait to chew again. seems like just yesterday was the day before my surgery and i was freaking out. seems like yesterday i had my surgery. and now its been over a week. time flies! i found this protein drink called myoplex. its made by EAS and has 42g of protein in 1 drink! and it tastes nice. im glad i found it. does anyone else use this? i also tried skinny water today, and it was great. did i say the food my mom's cooking smells delicious? lol. thats all for now. just wanted to give yall an update. btw im in sc and looks like hurricane Katia is a cat 4 or 5 and gonna hit us. eek!

home & sleeved :-)
on August 24, 2011 6:46 pm
i made it! i'm sleeved and officially on the Loser's bench. my surgery went well. i was in a lot of pain for 2 days. i ran fever and got tight in the lungs so they kept my an extra night. but i was back to normal in no time. i did dry heave which i believe was from my meds. that hurt really bad. i only took morphine once. i hated gettin up and walking at first cause it hurt real bad, but i believe all the walking i did is what helped me feel better each day. im so glad to have had my family and friends that were there to support me. all that ive been through since monday is all worth the outcome i'm gonna see. im gonna work hard and exercise lots soon as i can. i cant wait to be healthy and happy. move on over and make room on the loser's bench for me cause im gonna take a big seat :-) thanks again for all the support & prayers. im stayin w/ my parents and am able to finish all my popsickle, jello, and broth and im sippin on some water. so im doing good. :-) will keep ya'll posted

on August 15, 2011 5:31 am
hey guys! i'm bout to leave soon to head to Conway for my preop appointment. i have no idea what they're gonna do. but im excited just cause this is the last step towards my surgery next monday! 7 days woohooo!! getting excited. also, i have to go by my surgeions office to weigh in one last time before being weighed at the hospital on surgery day. i have to pay for my surgery (yes im self pay & BCBS can suck it!!!) and talk to him about any last minute concerns. i cant wait to be on the losers bench. im sure theyll do blood work today and i hope nothing comes up making my surgery have to be postponed. i would be so crushed. im sure it wont, but im a worrier! anyways ill let yall know how it goes! :-)
