Surgeon Testimonial

George Woodman
Dr. Woodman and his staff are very well organized and thoughtful. He is very skilled yet very blunt with his expectations of you. He makes it known from the begining that WLS is only a tool and that one must adhere to the behavior modification to be successful in our battle against obesity. The aftercare structure is wonderfully organized. He explained the risks and possible complications completely with me. I would rate him a 10 on a scale of 1-10 as a surgeon. His bedside manner is a little on the dry side, but nevertheless, he is a great surgeon.

I am now 3 1/2 months post op RNY and down almost 60 pounds. I have more energy and a better outlook on life. I am lucky to have a great support system, my husband and children. The rest of my family are pretty great too! I have to confess that I haven't had my labs drawn like I should have, But I have made a promise to my husband to call the surgeon tomorrow and have some ordered. I have plans to join CURVES as soon as I can get down there and check them out. I'm pretty excited, I have always wanted to try them, but until now, we haven't had one in town. I hope it will be as great as they say!

Pam's Wieght Loss Journey
on January 14, 2007 9:33 am
I had  the RNY Gastric bypass done in sept. 2005. It was a long journey to get to my surgery date, and took a lot of willpower and determination. I knew that if I did not do this.... I was going to die. I had a poor quality of life both physically and emotionally. My weight effected not only my self esteeem, but my work, my relationship with my family and my health was deteriorating fast. I quit smoking after 25 years at one pack a day.( I did enjoy my smokes). It was the first step in a very long process of getting approved for my surgery. My surgeon required many steps prior to insurance submission for approval. I felt like I was jumping through hoops at times. I now know why... He had to make sure that I wanted this as a tool and not as a "solution". After I followed all the rules, did everything that I was asked, my paperwork was submitted to the insurance agency. I was approved the very first time!!!!.I was scheduled for surgey, then afterwards, my journey began and is continuing to unfold every day. It was not always easy! But I would do it over in a heart beat! Thanks to Dr. Woodman, his staff and my family, I am here today and healthier than ever!
