Surgeon Testimonial

Zaria Murrell, M.D.
I was very impressed with Dr. Murrell at her initail group orientation. At the actual surgery comsultation, my feelings were only intensified. She has the sweetest, most patient nature. She is very knowledgeable about the procedure, and has the patient's best interest at heart. I feel very confident in her abilities.

I Said a Prayer For You Today! I said a prayer for you today, and know God must have heard, I felt the answer in my heart, although He spoke no word, I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures of, a more loving lasting kind, I asked Him to send you blessings at the start of your new day, To grant you love and health and to guide the surgeon's way, I asked for you to recover fast and to become thin and small, But it was for His loving care, I prayed for most of all!

Went to Dr. Zaria Murrell's WLS orientation at Crestwood Hospital. She was very thorough and knowledgeable about this procedure. Luckily, with TRICARE Prime Insurance, I should be able to get a surgery date soon! HAve to call her office in the morning to schedule a surgery consult date.

Called and got a consult date...January 2, 2006. Drats!! I was hoping for something a lot sooner. Oh well...time will pass anyway. Just wish it went faster sometimes.....

Merry Chrsitmas to me! I got home yesterday, late in the evening. I am sore, tired, just drained of energy. I can't sleep in the bed...too hard to get up and down...too much pressure on the incisions. My back hurts, and it is nearly impossible to get comfortable. Good thing I'm short......that chaise in the bedroom will be my bed for a few nights. Thank goodness for apple juice and SF jello...LOL.

WOW! It has been a long time between updates! I am now 8 months post-op, and have lost 112#. I can now wear a size 14 in jeans/slacks, and a Medium in most tops. A long way from the tight 28/3X back in December!

A lot of things have changed for me since my WLS. I no longer have constant pain in my knees from osteoarthritis. I have no cartilage left in either knee, so there will always be some doscomfort but I can deal with that. Heck...I am BOWLING again for the first time in 20 years! I am working full time again....and I love my job! Last summer I quit my job because I could not get up and move around like I felt I needed to. I was considering disability due to my weight and immobility! My relationship with my Darling Husband is better than ever...in ALL areas! He has always loved me, no matter what I weighed, but I feel better in so many ways now that I have lost weight.

I am very happy with the decision to have WLS. My face sags, the boobs sag, my thighs sag...but I have lost 112#, and am only 25-35# away from my surgeons's initial goals. At my last appointment in July, she said she would be happy if I just get to 160. I am still shooting for the !35-145!!

My DH & I are going on our first cruise in February, with a bunch of wonderful people from the OH Alabama board....I can hardly wait!

I highly recommend this WLS to anyone who is struggling...........it is a wonderful tool to have.
