Courage does not always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow." I will beat
obesity. I will win this battle.

Fibromyalgia!
on February 24, 2012 6:51 am
This is my third day of doing absolutely nothing. My hips are hurting so bad, I can not stand to lay, sit or walk. I hate it when I have these flare ups of pain. I was so hoping the weight loss would help this.  But no such luck yet. When I took my shower yesterday I could not stand for the water to hit my hips. So I am fixing to try a bath and see if that helps.

I need so prayers please that this pain will disapate soon.

Blessings to you all.

3 Months Post Op
on February 22, 2012 9:07 am
Three months already!  I had set a personal goal for myself to lose 50 pounds in three months. So you can only imagine my excitement when the nurse said I had lost 57 pounds.
I have went from a size 24 /26 to a size 18. I even purchased a few tops on the skinny side of the store.

I am disappointed with my level of pain that I am still having in my back, hips and legs. I was so hoping that it would get better, but the hip pain seems to have gotten worse. The doctors are saying that it is just because I am spending more time walking and exercising. But all I heard before the surgery was the pain would get so much better. I am just praying that it gets better. I sure don't want to be unable to exercise or walk, that is how I got in the messy state of obesity to start with.

Some pros and cons of three months post op:

Pro Eating much less and feeling full
Pro Being healthier (well except for that pain thing right now)
Pro Belts
Pro Sexier panties
Pro Shoes with a small heel (I haven't worn a heel in years)
Pro Slimmer face and neck
Con Lose of boobies
Pro Smaller clothes
Pro Longer hugs from my hubby
Pro More energy
Con Underwire bras seem to hurt worse when they rub on your rib cage
before there was so much fat I didn't notice.

As I think of more I will come back and add them in.

Christmas Dinner
on December 26, 2011 11:56 am
Well what a wonderful Christmas I had. I got to spend Christmas Eve with my mom, dad, two brothers and sister and their spouses.  The table was trimmed with everything yummy to eat. But I was completely happy with my tablespoon of mashed potatoes small amount of dressing and turkey or ham. I had one pinch of a dinner roll and after a couple of hours had a sliver of fat free chocolate cake. What wonderful fellowship we had. My mom and dad own several antique cars and they gave each of my brothers and sister an antique car. I got the oldsmobile that has been sitting in the garage for a few years. It's still a great car and even though I did not get one of the antiques I am thrilled with the thoughtfullness of getting anything at all. He could have sold all of these cars but chose to give them to his children.

Christmas day was just as awesome. We went to my mother and father inlaws for another dinner and "white elephant" gift exchange with my sister in law, her husband and children along with a cousin and her husband. Again the table was filled with everything you can imagine. And again I was content with my small plate of soft foods. My wonderful husband purchased me a beautiful new refrigerator that I had been wanting. We got to talk on the phone and skype in some cases with all of our children and grandchildren.

Today my husband and I have just enjoyed a lazy day of watching old movies and I am working on taking the tree down and getting all the Christmas stuff ready for another year of storage.

I am so thankful to my Lord Jesus Christ for being in my life and giving me such wonderful family and friends. I am thankful that the coming new year will be a much healthier one for me, thanks to my WLS. I certainly hope each and everyone of you have a new years filled with an abundance of blessings.

I certainly hope everyone is in the holiday spirit and ready for a wonderful Christmas.

I weighed this morning before my walk and am down 32 pounds. Yippee

I'm so excited about the weight loss. And so excited about my son's family coming in today and bringing my beautiful grand daughter. She is ten months old and it will be a blast watching her open her Christmas presents.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

DAY 11
on December 2, 2011 4:43 pm
Well it's been a couple of days since I wrote. I am still doing great as far as the WLS, but have really been down in back and legs the last couple of days. But feeling much better today. I have been up and walking again, Gosh it makes you feel so much better when you can walk. I walked about a 1/2 mile on the WII today. Working towards that mile before I go back to the doctor on December 8th. Walking helps keep the gas down, bowel normal. Never thought I would have said exercise is a good thing. LOL

My husband hugged me good bye this morning and said "Hey there is less of you already". It's only been eleven days. But I certainly did enjoy the compliment. He's such a wonderful support system.
