Eggs... not over easy....

Jun 30, 2009

I used to love eggs, but nowadays the smell even gets to me.  I still eat them, but my dad made me an egg this morning (I'm staying with the parents this week since the BF's daughters are visiting) and it just did not settle well.  The rubbery pieces sat in my stomach all the way to work, and it was just uncomfortable.  I did a terrible thing.  I stuck my finger down my throat and made them come up.  I couldn't handle them sitting there being a nuasance anymore.  It's not something I do regularly, but I have been known to force things back up on occasion because if it hasn't digested in an hour's time, it's probably not going to.  It's probably just going to sit there and give me heartburn.

There are a lot of things that easily give me heartburn.  I honestly can't tell you when the last time I sat down and had a real meal was-  I've been nibbling for days without actually eating a meal.  I'm not eating much.  I need to start supplementing with protein shakes. I'm definitely not getting in all the protein right now.  Vitamins and calcium, at my desk, need to take, pronto!

The good news is I'm consistantly losing.  I lost exactly 10 pounds in June.  My goal is to be in the 230's next week. I think that's doable since I'm at 242 right now.  Actually, I hope to be down to 239 by Sunday.  It's a little ambitious but I hope I make it.  I'm going to work out tonight.  I haven't been working on consistantly.  Definitely need to get back on the bandwagon with that.  Gotta hit the weights too. Gotta get more serious to get through the next hurdle.

101 lbs gone!!!!! 44 lbs gone with the band!

Jun 02, 2009

I started this weight loss journey in March 2004, when my best friend and her boyfriend were on Atkins.  I went on it with them because I was staying with them during my internship.  I had topped out at 353 lbs and when I went to the doctor and saw that number on the scale I thought I would die... hell, I knew I was going to die if I didn't do something about it.  I quickly lost about 40 pounds and hovered around 315 for years.  Finally, when I moved to Orlando, I got below 300 and into the 280's.  It was tough, I worked out every single day post Katrina while staying in Florida.  5 years later, I was fed up, turning 30, and decided to get the band.  I paid for it out of pocket, so those of you whose insurance covered it, thank your lucky stars.  Now, I'm 5 months out and I've lost 44 pounds.

However... I am so very proud to say that I have lost over 100 pounds now since I started this journey.  I didn't realize I was coming up so quickly on this benchmark! I am completely WOWED. I DID IT. The band helped, but I DID IT!
