Hi everyone, Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I'm back home. The surgery went well and I am reasonably comfortable. I have 6 laparascopic stab wounds which are a bit uncomfortable. I have some gas and a bloated feeling in my stomach. It's difficult to know how much to take in. I was told to sip 30cc/30 minutes throughout the day. Emotionally I am somewhat euphoric about the whole thing but I also have some grieving about my old unhealthy eating habits. I have no second thoughts that I have made the absolutely best decision for my health and for my family.

My prayers are with you on your upcoming surgery and for a speedy recovery. Debby, I believe one day soon you will be able to catch up with your daughter and husband and all this will be well worth it. God Bless You.

I made it... I'm post op!!
on October 30, 2006 5:22 am
My surgery went well and today I am back home and excited about the future.  I am on a clear liquid diet throughout this week.  I'm trying to figure out how to get all the water, vitamins, and meds I need to take.  My family has been wonderful and supportive.  Well, I will write more later... I think I'll head back to bed for now...

My Story

I am a wife and mother of a 7 year old girl.  I have been dieting since I was 11 years old.  I just turned 50 and I'm sick of once again having a hundred pounds to lose.  I have trouble keeping up with my daughter and my husband.  I had various weight related health problems... ENOUGH... diets don't work... I want my life back...

My RNY is scheduled for October 27 and I can't wait to start my new life.  I plan to have a serious exercise and self improvement program.  Overeating isn't fun anymore!!!

I love to go to our cabin and swim... I love sailing and canoeing... I love hiking... I want to horseback ride and not fear for the horse!!! I want to be able to run with my daughter and maybe catch her.  I want to set a healthy example for my daughter by eating well and being active.  What I'm doing now isn't healthy, it's destructive.

I don't feel that big but I noticed everything around me has gotten smaller!!  ...the bathtub, chairs, beds, etc.  I have gotten to 230 lbs... I am in a weight class with mike Tyson for goodness sake!!!
