Surgeon Testimonial

Kenneth G. MacDonald, Jr. M.D.
My first impression of him was that is was a serious professional. We sat down and he talk to me and my mother about the surgery risks, he gave some stats about a couple of the batriactric surgery. he was really thoughtful and knowledge and i loved him for that. i thought wow.

One year out
on August 28, 2010 8:05 pm
one year ago on 8/27 i had my RNY.  It has been a wild ride but i have enjoyed the end result as of today my weight is 225lbs....i am down 126lbs since surgery and I love it...it is still hard for me to get enough calories so i eat small meals about every 2 hours like my friend who is diabetic and it works out perfectly...though the last couple weeks i have been throwing up the slime and i sure that is from not chewing my food well or drinking a tad bit before the 30min..I feel so blessed and i have been formally put back on the kidney transplant list..idk where i stand but it to me had work to get there and stay..

It's been a while since i last posted, but here i am 9 months post op with a weight of 242 lbs.  I am quite please with the rate i am losing, not as fast as some but anywho....im loving this 242 lb me. i can do things i havent done in years. i didnt think i was a sugar dumper but boy was i wrong.. i ate one to many bites of my mom's mother's day cake and that was all she wrote, sweating, sliming, rapid heart beat and even dizziness. needless to say i will not be eating cake anytime soon.  anyway tootles.. I love my RNY.

A wild ride
on January 24, 2010 8:35 pm
Boy oh boy what a ride....remember the ulcer well I thank god for them...the ultra sound found a cyst on my kidney so he orders me a abdominal CT scan.  While looking at the kidney, the scan saw a cyst which was secondary as to what was found in the bottom of my left lung, so the did another ct of my upper chest and it was confirmed that I had PE, blood clots.  I was rushed to ED, then to vascular, where I received a Vena Cava filter.  They had my head spinning...I had no symthoms  my surgeon, ed folks, and vascular people were shock to see me walking... I thank God for looking after me

But during the course of 4 years i've creep back up to 340. I think my ideal weight for my heigh is 180 and that skinny for me.it is a must that i do something I am need of help.

i am also kidney dialysis patient and desire to have a transplant, but to be good canidate for transplant i must loose at least 100 lbs.

I went to the education meeting on 9/11/2008 and am going through the series of test with my 2 being scheduled stress test on 10/9 and with the nutritionist 11/2. so home hopeful now. have bc/bs of nc and medicare. medicare requires a 6 month medically supervised weight loss plan.  I see that doctor on 10/21.
