Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Before the "enlightenment" there was no battle. I just thought I was fat because I ate too much. While that is true, it is not the root problem. The root problem was, somewhere along the lines, food (Carbs) became my drug of choice.

Robert Cywes, M.D., Ph.D.
I was refered to Dr Cywes from several friends who are also patients of his. I could not imagine having another doctor.

1. He truly cares about you as person. He and his staff treats the problem of weight gain, not the symptom.

2. The after-care, before-care, and during-care were more than I could ever expect from anyone. I have never had a problem that he was unavailable to help.

After my surgery (Lap-band) I was having some pain. He opened his office at 8pm at night by himself to make sure I was alright. He cared enough about me to make sure I was alright instead of sending me off to an ER or telling me to schedule an appointment the next day. I was so impressed with him.

I also love his "no bones about it" approach. It is what it is, and I love it.

I could write for a very long time about how truly greatful I am to find Dr Cywes and ALL his staff. They have been there 100% of the way and helped me more than I can ever give them credit for.
